i don't know how long it will take with lightmass. With Redshift, its is quite clear it will work wonders with high end graphic cards which most ppl find too pricey besides it goes for 500 dollars compared with unreal engine which is $19.Also I think UE4 supports global illumination and indirect lighting in real time,so u…
true... but thats changeing... Blizzard switched to redshift and there are several other doing fx with GPU based farms... https://www.redshift3d.com/blog/blizzards-overwatch-animated-shorts-rendered-with-redshift
If you go the GPU route i would say there is only one alternative and thats Redshift. Here is a great inside from Blizzard about there Redshift pipeline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24aqcFYX0LY

Hey Mark! Thanks for the reply, I guess we will have to be patient ... more patient. ;) On the subject of Redshift, I saw this morning that they have released the Blender plugin - https://www.blendernation.com/2020/11/20/redshift-plugin-for-blender-released/ Thanks again! Daf
Thought I'd just add this extra render i did after, This was a redshift test as I envisioned it with volumetrics but Keyshot 8 wasn't out yet and I found redshift to be noise free in less time aswell! It was relatively easy to get it working which was nice!
Hey, @TheFlow - Do you know anything regarding blender redshift development? Couldn't find any useful information since redshift devs asked for help/support ( i think it was at blender-artist ). Hope they didn't get demotivated based on the comments under Andrews twitter post. ;)
Hey Crisptophe, how would you compare Redshift and Octane? In terms of ease of usage, results, speed, etc. I was wasn't familiar with Redshift and it looks really nice. Since both are GPU-based and you did a few renders in Octane I was wondering what you think about those renders.
Finished the TIE fighter! Textured in Quixel Suite, rendered in Redshift - was a great little opportunity to get some experience with offline renderer as opposed to the realtime stuff I usually do. Would love to hear some feedback as I have not done too much hard surface work so far and never used Redshift before.
