I've just felt knowing which game brings out the most inspiration out of you, as an artist? I know some of you can't make a choice to only choose one game but on this thread you'll have to. Basically, as an artist, which game do you always refer yourself to keep doing what you're doing? Your top of the video game pantheon.…
Hey PC, So iv just uploaded an updated layout for my portfolio with updated shots and cutting of a lot of fat. This is mostly just housekeeping as i was getting sick of using Wordpress. I'm fortunately currently employed. this update is more so for myself. Let me know what you guys think. I'm still working on getting…
I'm currently a self-taught web designer/developer, and I've been freelancing full-time for about 7 years... And I'm really burned out. I have some experience in CG (3dsmax and Blender) but I'm far from pro. I've started spending the time to learn and improve and I'd like to freelance once I'm good enough. My question is,…
I dont have anything super helpful to add but just on that note of wondering why Dying Light did things one way or another, it's not always going to be the case that what ends up in the game was the best or most efficient thing. Could be there was some ideas that didn't pan out, time ran short, mass confusion… whatever. So…
Hey polyc, Recently decided to try my hand at making a photorealistic bust, i chose Jason Statham because im a big fan (especially of lock stock and two smoking barrels), and because i wouldnt really have to deal with the issue of hair. Anyway im having some real trouble and i desperately need some advice and crit from a…
Update: I've modelled the fog lights and put together most of the UV for the car. Some additional improvements here and there like reducing the poly count of those little marker lights like Chadwick suggested and small improvements to the front bumper.
Well if it's just being given to you, then theres no point in thinking about any other software for now. Some people are perfectly fine with lightwave but I believe, and I'm sure most people here will agree, that there are better programs out there. Lightwave will probably suit your immediate needs just fine.
That was kind of my entire point. If you're going to use a novel workflow that will need retopo and a bunch of work after the 3d creation might as well do it with one that is actually drawing and easy to do. As well as a tool that is already native to the software you will be working in. As far as beginner friendly its…
AlexCatMasterSupreme, komaokc: Thanks guys, but it's just gonna stay a bust :) pes: If people have questions, just let me know and I might do some breakdowns. skullsplitter, Lextripper: Thanks dudes :) McKracken: hahaha thanks mate D4V1DC: Thanks man. The mech parts were decimated and exported to Maya for the retopo with…
I need some advice from you guys. How much can I take for a head/bust without textures (so mainly sculpted) based on photo references? It should match the photos as closely as possible, skin pores etc are not necessary. Also, one or two different polycounts may be required for (fluid) simulations. I know it´s hard to say,…
