Hello friends \o/ So I'm pretty new to baking with substance (and baking in general) and one problem I keep running into consistently are these sharp black edges on round surfaces. I think I can just add more edge loops to smooth out the mesh but is there anything specifically I should/can do to avoid this problem?
Hello there, I was wondering if anyone knew how to go about this problem I'm having.. Im trying to crease these edges, but as I do it pinches the geometry. I've tried adding extra geometry, but it just adds more issues with hard edges in other areas of the mesh. Would anyone happen to have a solution/workflow for this kind…
Is Modo the only good renderer with rounded edges. Is it the only viable renderer that allows the Technique that Torfrick uses? Both for Highpoly rendering and optionally also lowpoly baking. Other render engines also have rounded corner shaders, but they all seem to have shading problems. Corona has dark edges and the…
Hi guys I use constraints in 3ds Max I want to know what Tools or Technique can do the same Maya? In Maya I want to move vertex or edge along the other edge without reforming . Thanks in advance.
Excuse me, its there a way to model but without affecting the edges of the outside? (the ones that maintains the model's shape, or however its called) Like just affecting the inside (green) but not the edges (red) Nvm figured it out: Masking > Mask by Feature > Border
Hi all, It would be awesome to assign round edge width per material for baking in Substance Designer or Substance Painter. Right now the only options are to bake round edge in Modo or Maya/3ds Max with V-Ray materials. Thanks!
Hello everyone, I am trying to create a specific effect, and I'm not even sure if its possible. What I would like to do is trace the edges of a "hole" in a mesh (or more specifically, the edges of meshes arranged in a sphere) As you see here (in this horrible illustration) the sphere is made of sub objects. You can remove…
So I have two objects. One is a high poly (~4m polys) and the other is the LP of that same object. I'm going to freeze the HP and then refine the LP so it mimics the HP. However, I need hidden edge mode enabled to be able to see the edges on my LP, which then displays all of the edges on my HP and it's impossible to work…
Smooth Edges is the first and only 3DS Max script that gives you the freedom and control to shape your models the way you want. Here are some of the benefits you get: •Never again be forced to move vertices one be one •Create smooth curves and surfaces •Have greater control over your mesh •Model at lighting speed •Align…
