I am trying to create a specific effect, and I'm not even sure if its possible. What I would like to do is trace the edges of a "hole" in a mesh (or more specifically, the edges of meshes arranged in a sphere)
As you see here (in this horrible illustration) the sphere is made of sub objects. You can remove these sub objects to reveal a new layer underneath. I would like to outline the hole to create a distinction between the layers. Can I create a post effect to handle this?

this should do the job, you will have to fiddle around with the settings to prevent it from showing the diffrent pices before they are supposed to be seen.
