Hey guys, I'm new to using 3DS overall, I'm really a Maya guy but from browsing this site a lot I was inspired to learn 3DS. Anyway, so far I'm loving the render to texture feature except I'm having a problem I haven't had before... These terrible alpha edges are ruining this project I spent a goo d day working on. I've…
Hello guys. Today I had some free time and I wanted to try something 'different'. I wanted to create the same object but with different textures to see if I can make them look different, like if they weren't the same object. I uploaded it to Marmoset so you guys can watch them perfectly. Any critique is really appreciated.…
One major part would be reflections, having something move across the surface. You can't fake this only with a diffuse texture as far as I know. You would also want a transparent material or at least an illusion of an inside painted in the diffuse texture. Maybe combine with having a transparent material for the glass,…
Looks cool but too bright I think, but that could just be the lighting. You should give us a GI render, unless that is in which case I'd say turn down the saturation and the brightness quite a bit on the whole texture, and some color variation on the texture maybe, a little bit more warmth I'd say. It's cool though, will…

Hi, I made a gun for my game but the texture is bothering me. I know it has a lot of lack of detail, but how can I make it better? Any advice is much appreciated (I am using Unity 5 metallic standard shader). ).
So I've never really done hand painted tilable textures from scratch, so I'm going to try out painting a few different materials! For the first one I did a wood base then made it into a plank variation. Any feedback is appreciated!
What was said, plus you can vertex blend other textures (ideally with much less directional information than the texture in your screen - grime, mud, moss etc. works fine) and/or use decals to hide the most obvious issues.
