How to texture in Substance Painter or PBR in general

Hi, I made a gun for my game but the texture is bothering me. I know it has a lot of lack of detail, but how can I make it better? Any advice is much appreciated (I am using Unity 5 metallic standard shader). ).

    It's the same as texturing in PS, except you're painting across all channels at once and it's obviously 3d painting.

    Start by breaking the material down logically and building it up in layers, from a base metal add colour variation, rust, dirt, grime, scratches, fingerprints, dust, etc....

    The more work, effort, attention to detail the better the result.
