Junior artists make art and generally only have to do what they're asked to do. Senior artists actively seek out problems and try to solve them. They help train the juniors and they help develop art tools.
https://gyazo.com/36e4168388f4d5a1a5b2f9d1507294fe After I run the subdiv script on my object it dissapears when I click the apply. This happened all the time. Does anyone know how can I solve it? Thank you all. The object is not heavy at all by the way.
I tried all angle thresholds, can't get rid of the distortion, i think adding control edges would solve the problem but i don't want more edges. can i fix it as is? i think the problem is that smoothing groups don't work on flat curves?
Hi, I am using a vrayDisplacementMod on a mesh and it seems to be tearing up my mesh on the seams. I tried turning on the "keep continuity" option in the vrayDisplacementMod but that didn't change anything. It will be a huge help if someone can assist me in solving this issue. Thanks! ~
Hey Polycounters, I've been banging my head against the wall on a few problem areas on a Henry45-70 receiver I've been making. I can't seem to figure out how to solve the topology so that it subdivides smoothly. Help would be greatly appreciated!
**solved** I've had little luck finding a good exporter to use with multiple objects in a maya scene. I'm looking for something that will do a fbx export to a specified directory using the object's names to generate individual files for each object. Using Maya 2016.
I'm trying to add scales to my Dragon, but when I try and apply it using the DragDot stroke they are not really applying properly. Before: After: As you can see the alpha has not bee applied to the high point of the curve, is there a way to solve this ? (See leg)
That material has no textures. I suggest you follow the tutorial that comes with the product. You do not understand enough of 3ds Max to problem solve on your own by stabbing in the dark. Following an official tutorial will not be a waste of your time.
So the answer is a big fat no. :( I get the feeling that USD adoption isn't going to solve Maya doing random shit on it's own unless the software can gain a few extra IQ and rethink it's spastic auto retriangulating.
As mentioned, exploded bake will solve most of the problems. Also the overlapping issue Logithx mentioned, I've only see that happen when baking AO with mental ray in 3ds Max. Other baking methods don't have this problem.
