https://imgur.com/a/RvC7z6r I'm trying to model a sling wrapped around a gun. I wanted to use cloth sim but I have to make the first basic shape by hand. The issue is I have to rotate some parts to avoid clipping into the gun and then the sim thinks the strap shape is not cut straight and doesn't bend it correctly.

Hi folks, Im having a few issues running the cloth simulation in 3d studio max 9. The problem Im having is that when I run the simulation after a while the simulation stops. I am unable to press the simulation button to restart the process and the only walk around is to truncate simulation and then start the simulation…
Hello everyone It's been a very long time since I look at the creations which many talented artists put down here, but never dared to post mine because I've always thought I don't have the level. Today I've told myself that I have to make the first step and accept critique if I want to progress in my art. As the title…
Ive taken photos of myself with a normal T shirt on with my arm in every general position (T, raised, tucked, and relaxed). This has helped with placing my general folds in correct places but im having brush problems. To start folds i usually operate on level 4 subdivision, so generally low poly. I use the flatten brush…
Search engines fail me and the best I can find is just applying the cloth modifier to the whole thing which is obviously not how you are supposed to do it since it's an optimization disaster. Or is it? Is there a less demanding way to do it than the simulation but more realistic than just weighting it with the body? I'm…
Hi there, I figured it might be easier to ask here, since some of you might have a better idea. I'm specifically looking for a tutorial/workshop that includes the full workflow of character for animation, including hair grooming and clothes sim aswell as rigging if possible. I'm trying to understand the entire workflow…
I've seen a bunch if machine learning clothsim stuff in the recent years, which to me looked like this is where we're heading in games at least for some time, as its a lot lighter than actual cloth sim
Hey there. I am pretty new with all this stuff and want to know what you think is the best way to add physics bones or cloth to a model. I want to add the default physical effect in capes and hair but not sure how to do it. It is possible to do it just importing the fbx in the Dota2 Tools importer? Thanks!!!!
Hi guys! I'm trying to learn Marvelous Designer to create cloth assets for my projects. However every single source I've came across uses the standard Avatar from the software. These avatars include arrangement points and bounding volumes which makes simulation easier. But when you import a custom character, you don't have…
