Hi! I'm new to Substance Designer and have a question. How do you crop an image in designer?..or do you? Cant find anything except the transform 2D but it just tile or squeeze the image. I have a texture input and just want to use a section/part of that image as my base for the rest of texture work. Help would be much…
I installed the latest greatest Forceware drivers (163.75) for UE3 because it wanted them for Gears of War. Everything seems to be great and fine except for video playback of any videos like .avi files encoded in DiVX. They're all washed out looking. Anybody run into this or know how to fix it? I'm running WinXP.
I'm trying to get a superficial understanding of the anatomy of the most known species except maybe insects and mollusks, but the majority of books I find treat only mammals. Is there any book focused on artists that goes a bit on common reptiles, birds and fishes and from where I could get a general reference?
I don't know how to explain this, so I have a picture. I have tried the mesh with and without binormal inputs, fbx and collada. Without any map except the tangent map. Its like loosing the edge of the mesh padding or something to that effect, while the tangent map (and all others) have plenty of padding.
After a mauling final quarter at school (still don't know if I'm gonna pass ><) , I got my site up finally. Please do give me some comments and crits. Except for the Baroness' hair. :P I know it looks like she mopped up the Valdez oil spill with her head. Thanks. http://gamegeist.net/shredart/

Hello! I'm currently available for freelance or contract position as an Environment, World or Prop artist. If the opportunity arises for full time or part time employment and the team is exceptional, I would love to talk more about the opportunity. Please take a moment and check out my Portfolio if you are looking for a…
It does but it doesn't mean that you can do anything. It can render things like that only when they are totally the same thing except the transform. Objects with different materials cannot be batched. From my experience, even a few hundred materials can be fine depending on the hardware.Mobile stuff, not so much.
For this question: "because you cant use baking on stacked meshes " Do you mean stacked maps? I'd just do the classic approach of moving the stacked UVs except for one out of the way by 1 unit (or -1) and then just moving them back when you're done texturing the one.
Windw > Saved Layouts > Edit Layouts > Edit Layouts > Three Panes Side by Side / Four Panes Side by Side That'll give you multiple viewports. For tools menus however I don't think there is a way to dock them natively in Maya 2011. NEX is an exception as it has that functionality built in.
