I think what he wants is maybe useful scripts and plugins that maya has? Tago, I recommend Nex. it has a lot of nice features and is a great addition to maya's tool set.
Oh shoot, I'm posting in the wrong thread I actually am trying to use the ShaderFX version. Although it doesn't really matter, since as soon as I open Maya (without loading the shader) I still can't render in viewport 2.0 which means it won't work, right? Maybe haidda is correct. Need to research this a bit more... Any…
Hey guys, I was contacted by someone who asked if I could help out with solving how to author vertex colors in Maya with real-time preview. I took the opportunity to try out the new ShaderFX in Maya 2015 and put together a video to show how this could be done. I'm still quite new to ShaderFX but it was quite easy to get…
Hello, I'm in my final year in college for a BA in Game Art and I want to focus my personal work on environment design. One thing that I'm most interested in (but am starting late seriously studying) is learning more about lighting. I've always focused on lighting in games and always feel like.. I could do better? I feel…
IFL is an old Autodesk format, so maybe now they'll implement support for it in Maya, but I doubt it, it's just a text file. There must be an analogue for it in Maya, it's just a list of the images to play back... Image File List.
Im pretty sure there's a ton of bridgetool in Maya over at www.creativecrash.com, since you mentioned it, maybe i'll spend sometime and look for new stuff for Maya too.
I know that max can do that out of the box which lets you assign any analogue or digital axis/button to a expression in the motion panel. Maybe there are some scripts for maya that upgrade such a feature for maya
I noticed that too, they added a lot of cool stuff for editing the pivot but I couldn't figure out a way to do this either, it doesn't work with vertex snapping on a single axis either. I just added this to the Maya "Small Annoying Things" feedback site, so maybe it gets changed at some point.…
Hey guys, I've used XSI for ... wow a long time now. About 4 years. Anyway. I've decided I want to go to Full Sail for their Game Art degree (finally some official training :D ) and I've learned they use Maya there. So in anticipation, I've started messing around with it. I've heard XSI is pretty similar to Maya, but so…
I wanted to obtain same results as described here in the forum http://polycount.com/discussion/90858/maya-thicker-lines-permanent everything seemed to work for a while but no luck in new maya. Can anyone help (or test this in Maya2017). Also is there a way to do the same for the verteces "glyphs". Thanks in advance for…
