Hello,
I'm in my final year in college for a BA in Game Art and I want to focus my personal work on environment design. One thing that I'm most interested in (but am starting late seriously studying) is learning more about lighting. I've always focused on lighting in games and always feel like.. I could do better? I feel like I have a good starting mentality for the job.
I'd like to learn and showcase my knowledge of lighting scenes in UE and Unreal as well as small art projects like still lifes in Maya.
Have you come across any nice books or sites on the topic? Or maybe point me to another thread with good information?
Also for my portfolio I'm trying to decide the best way to showcase this. I'm definitely going to have one scene of my own artwork lit in different ways. I think I should have a plain scene (just simple shapes on a surface without texture) to display basic skills. Maybe some photography samples?
Any sort of input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
