that's probably where i'd start - simply don't include the water There is/was a node for testing depth behind a surface that looks like it's specifically intended for this purpose on (probably) 5.2. I cant remember what it was called but if you search for depth in the materials nodes it should come up

I feel like you have a few too many islands here and there that you are combining now Personally i start with eyes, mouth and the nose, and then grow outwards from there, the jaw/cheek is an area that sorta grows naturally out of these circular shapes

IMO too hi res textures sometimes rather reveal artificial procedural noises people do them with . What looked like a proper hint to certain material features in lower resolution became overdone and obviously Substance Painter noises and scratches , often lots of redundant details that only spoils the impression.
