Hey guys, its a little while ago since the Escape challenge ended this April. In the meantime I made a making of article for a magazine I´d like to share with you. Thanks for all the fun I had participating in this challenge! http://www.martinteichmann.com/makingof/Making_Of_Scottish_Landscape.pdf
I was planning on creating an alien environment a little while back but I had some issues with the Torque engine and alpha sorting and I kind of gave up on it. I'm starting over, here's an alien tree that I whipped up today, 768 polygons with a 1024x1024 texture
Following Wenda tutorial on importing WM heightmaps I ran into a problem. My texture map from WM is offset, I put the correct terraincoordinates node with the size of the heightmap but the texture is still off.
The second part in our landscape tutorial series is online! It covers procedural puddles! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nERpEOABJJo&feature=share Feel free to check it out and let us know what you think
I'm investigating alternative ways of creating terrain (other than a heightmap) and I was wondering if any tools exist in current 3d programs that would let an artist create a varied terrain. Not just rolling hills, but also sharp cutoffs and overhangs. Would something like this be possible with for example the NURBS tools?
Guys im desperate about this issue. All map seems fine but not this moment? I tried a lot of combinations but probably not enought to get rid of this "squares" of shadows. They apeared mosty at cave shape entrances like caves, hangars etc. =================
HI I almost finished this piece. Unfortunately I heard a rumor that the perspective is messed up and the colors are bad. I wanted to make it gloomy, just like in Piotr Jabłoński's style. Please help me. An overpaint is very welcomed.
howdy folks, im trying to use POM for a sand material and when i view it from certain angles (especially over the crests of hills) i get this distortion effect. any ideas?
