Thanks for all the tips, really appreciate it. Anybody have tips on creating good photosourced normal maps? (reducing noise, increasing noise etc, making a grayscale image etc)
A real pain in the butt sometimes however I sense goodness. May the force be with "meat-lamb-chop-woodland-fellow"...etc, etc... And belated happy returns, too. vv
I'm sure photogrammetry has a lot of research on it: how it came to fruition, why is it being used, examples of current and past games using it, how does it work etc etc.
for me its movies soundtracks (danny elfman, american beauty score for example), chillout mixes of classic music like mozart, chopin etc but also rammstein, system etc.
hey, I have been MIA for the past month because of school, grading etc etc... this thread is looking good... you are definitely providing the illusion of depth. keep going!!
Even then, its simply a waste of time for you to do this. You can simply offset the uvs, then you dont have to deal with saving multiple copies of the mesh etc etc.
I mean, yes lots of games companies do share data (with outsource vendors, external partners etc etc). I don't have a lot of information to share on this though.
