Hello all, I decided to work on creating a village environment to work on my skills and get a finished piece for the portfolio. It's still very much wip but I think I have enough to share so far. I started off with a sole building as a template, and have begun building more variations off of it as I go. IE, started off…
I've been working on this for a year, actually it's roughly 4 months, but I had very little time to spend on this project last year so that's why this took this time. Whatever, let me talk about the project. The part one is finished, this was a nvidia waveworks study I did to learn and understand the usage of that plugin…
Yes, at Infinity Ward we have a vehicle team, CDPR has a vehicle team since they started working on CP2077, Star Citizen has a gigantic vehicle team and so does every developer that makes games about car racing.
I saw how some other people marked the edit dates, so I'll try too - 12/14/2017 I colored some more, and now it's only hair, cane, clothing and some details left. And then after it, I'll start working on background :3 C&C appreciated! So I started working on the face a bit. It might look pretty dumb from close-up, but when…
Since finishing this project, I have considered making the proper breakdown this artwork deserves. That was a great experience in achieving the cinematic look and how I can work on strict time limits. *final artwork* Let's start! First of all, huge thanks to Gabriel Tan for giving me the green light to do this project you…
Looks like you started with a too high rez. Unless you are experienced the work is always going to look like lumpyvill. Start low, get the layout right, then go in and define the sculpt. Just my opinion, but concentrating on separate body parts as a study method leads to unbalanced learning. You can see this at times with…
Hi all, Me and desktoppirate are creating a small scene for fun and practice. We're playing with the idea of stark contrast within an isolated area. Here are some starting sketches and asset tests we've done so far (mostly to decide on a style we can both work to). Feedback would be greatly appreciated! Quick pre-vis…
Hi Polycounters, I recently started this necromancer version of General Grievous for the CG Plus Star Wars Re-Imagined competition. This is my first thread for a work in progress of mine, but I'm ready to receive your advice and wisdom, I will most likely ask a lot of questions along the way as well. Thanks
Been starting on star wars sort of project. The first piece for it was the standard issue sidearm for all stormtroopers, the SE-14r blaster! I'm working off some light references from the movies and a guy who made it in real life. I have the lower part of the gun modeled for now.
Started doing some normal baking and painting inside substance painter. Used some smart materials to see how it would work. I wanted the grain to run length-ways on the wood, so duplicated the wood and rotated the UV's, whilst tweaking the scaling. Using this program is actually really fun! Just playing around with…
