So back at the start of February AD went subscription-only (except for the suites, but that's coming in a few months too). Whats the fallout been like so far? Anyone switched, or seriously considering switching, 3D apps as a result?
Indie game development, as a general rule, isn't profitable. Obviously there are exceptions, but the overwhelming majority of indie games never pay back their development costs, especially if you value your time at or above minimum wage.
@CommonOne Thanks for your feedback. As I already posted a complete weapon breakdown there is nothing new here except the straps. In the AK there is no witchcraft going on just simple modeling and booleans. Appreciate your thoughts through!

I dont think I have ever encountered this (except on badly decimated meshes, where faces that only share 1 vertex with the rest of the mesh would get detached). Does it happen consistently for you?
thanks for the help @Obscura , its working great now. Let me ask you, you thing having a world aligned texture being applied to the whole map, except characters, would be to heavy in performance?
ya good rule of thumb for highpolys divide shit where it is separate in real-life, with the exception of floaters for making surface detail. But in this day the need for floaters as pretty much been nullified by tools like nD2.
Ok, this is amazing and lame at the same time. You would create GoZ for every other 3d modeling program except SoftImage XSI? I guess I'll start using Maya again. Thanks for sharing. :)
They all look awesome except for Leona. Her face looks warped and boy-ish. And her foot looks a bit weird as well. You might wanna check that again. Overal nice work though.
Thanks everyone for giving their comments. It sounds like it just better for (hard surface anyway) to just do the base mesh and high detail (except for like scratches, massive damage and the like) in 3ds or Maya. Thanks :)
