What does "fraction" mean, if I buy Snow Leopard full it's closer to $180. Windows 7 Professional is $259(well $140 if you get some hardware too). -

I gave up on all these bullshit anti-virus programs years ago. Regular backups + common sense + up to date Windows 7 + Microsoft's free programs = no problems. -

Sounds like your hard drive is thrashing a lot. What OS are you running? If you're under Vista or Windows 7, try stopping the indexing of your hard drive. -

If you're hard up for an OS to install, you can still get the Windows 7 Release Candidate which will be good till mid 2010. I'm running it, seems to be fine. -

Great Portfolio. I think we are similar. I also like hard surface modeling and steampunk. You should charge more than $7 an hour though. That's like below minimum wage. -
