This is something that has driven me INSANE over the past few years working with Unreal Engine. No matter what I do, no matter what tutorial I follow, I cannot get a seamless lightmap. In this tutorial for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joKnmShAdJE, the author doesn't worry about grid settings or snapping mesh…
I know how you can create falloff materials in UDk for use as a dynamic snow or moss shader. I would like to give the snow or moss some volume though by using tessellation, but my tests haven't been very successful. A Polycount member posted the following example for icicles (which is essentially the same. I would like to…
well hello there everyone :) ive been recently working in this scene based on a concept from deus ex human revolution. At first i was thinking of posting this only when id have it finished, but as i want this to be a folio piece (still have to start my own... i have the works to make it, but not the folio itself hehehe), i…
Hey bud, Thank you, genuinely! Even just for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate that and take it all on board! It all makes a lot of sense, I just wanted to make sure I was on the right path to success and wasn't heading in the wrong direction! I'll keep cracking on with some tutorials for now then as I feel…
I agree with @JesseL to follow the rule of thirds with the composition. Here are some comments on your latest image with the rule of thirds applied: Not mentioned below, the stone path takes your eye to the gate maybe too strongly. So I did a quick mockup: The idea is to follow the rule of thirds, place the building at the…

I have just followed Paul Neales tutorial on IK/FK blend arms and applied it to my dog legs. Sadly when I applied it I forgot to link up the hand (bottom 2 bones) as I thoght they would follow the…
I don't have a problem with people following the concept art. You only seem to have a problem with it, because everyone is doing it, which after seeing the same one, time after time, I can appreciate what your feeling. There's nothing wrong with showing that you can execute the concept art given to you by someone who…
@Maverickhornet - Thanks man! Glad you're following the project. :D Drop me a PM and ill get back to you after work with a bunch of stuff that will help you find out what you need! @JMYound - Thanks man! I love Bioshock too, Its a tough act to follow because they pretty much nailed the art style, so im just trying to match…
Watch those seams on the arms, it looks you could hide them by running them through the tattoos. The taught lines on the inside of the pecs should be following the shape of the muscle instead of running parallel with each other. The loin cloth and hips look wrong, get some reference. It may be the femur that's too short or…
