Completely forgot to post the final renders of the scene. Added some volumetric light to scene and just played around with some of the lights. Will probably add a gif of the scene tomorrow. Apart from that going to be calling this portfolio piece finished now, was a great fun scene to work on and actually gained a lot from…
So the Artstation challenge is now firmly over, but there is still plenty I want to get done in my scene before I'm 100% happy with it as a portfolio piece. I'm hoping to get this piece finished off by the end of August. My challenge thread is…
Check how it looks when materials are applied, and it’s put in a scene with lighting and camera angle. Many of these tiny issues become essentially invisible, in situ. But yes, triangles and ngons are ok, as long as they don’t adversely affect the shading. Usually fine on flatter areas.
I have a maya binary scene that crashes shortly after loading, while the textures are still loading in the scene. Crashes in both 2022 and 2023 versions whether I open the file directly or import it. I suspect it is corrupted mash network node because going back incremental saves, I cannot open until before I used a mash…

I had started building a series of low-poly / flat-shaded game-ready assets and after years of them just sitting there in the asset stores, decided to make my own game out of them. This is a scene from Crown of Kings using Almighty Assets low-poly 3d models and props.…
I wanted to create a convincing safety reflector material for a future project. I spent a weekend toying around with it in the latest version of Unreal. Here is a description of how retroreflectors work: https://sky-lights.org/2020/08/10/qa-how-bicycle-reflectors-work/ These reflectors are cast in transparent plastic with…
If I understand right (and observate right from all the other corner scene posts) You got tasked to do a corner szene, and youre doing a room without any near visible wall or corner, and now you decided to focus on the character ? ; )
Ive never used Unreal before but if I was to use a game engine like it or Unity or something, that game engine would have to be able to edit UVs and have all the face cutting and editing as well as the scene is far from being game engine ready in those respects, and it would take far far too long to carefully make sure…
