I have been thinking about this a few times. The main problem about trees is that they are much higher than you, so you cannot really take pictures from above and from the sides of the canopy, just from underneath, and that is not going to be enough. So photogrammetry there cannot help. However what I think it could work…
I'm wondering if anyone has a good method for scanning leaves for a leaf atlas, like you'd get from megascans. I assume quixel has some crazy lighting setup and special equipment for flat atlas scans like that. Using a single image in something like Bitmap2material or knald gets that pillowy look and I haven't gotten very…
Thanks Eric . I actually meant local files and backups searching , not internet resources. Those texture libraries are nice indeed but never provide you with something exactly what you want and usually limited to small 2x2m patches that gives very distinctive look to game environments lacking mid-frequency details across…

Hi! I'm level/lighting artist and there is some screenshots on my work on Chernobylite game project. On the beginning i mainly did level design and some environment. Since half of project my job was relight whole project with new weather dynamic system(include indoors) and find good-look for that. I setup lights,…
Hi there. Wondering if anyone has tried this technique? Let's say you wanted a brick texture, instead of having to have worry about lighting conidions or having your camera parallell to the bricks allignment, take maybe 10-15 pictures of the "area" where the bricks are. You will have alot more flexibility as you can…
Original photo I took of the ground on my trip to Brazil is included there too. Hopefully that clears things up from where I started from. This began as AI testing but turned back into a traditional photogrammetry scan edit after I did not like the results from AI or using it in general
Hi guys, wanted to showcase our Cinematic Trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28nTfqTQ16I Open to feedback, suggestions and all of that stuff We'll soon be releasing our next one, hope to be showing that here, too. Challenges for this have been creating a believable, realistic looking environment while relying a…
Just finished the highpoly model after sitting on this model/scan for over a year. Figured it would be a great way to start experimenting with UE5 and Nanite, and seeing if I can texture a high poly model and have that bake down to the lowpoly, kinda do 2 work flows at once and compare. Highpoly is mostly done, need to…
Hey everyone, Been practicing photogrametry and getting a full workflow and managed to finish my first low poly model created from scan data. The scan was created using a canon 500d and rendered in agisoft. Managed to create the final low poly model in Topogun and baked out the textures in Knald and Xnormal. ive added some…
