Gonna pre-face this rant by saying this just represents my opinion as an individual, as a person, homo sapiens. @NikhilR EDIT: im not gonna comment on the culture war stuff as i agree and disagree with tons of points and thats a whole other thing. Im going to just mention stuff me as a dev and as a consumer think about…
Strange idea here, but if I was a car manufacturer I would actually like if my car was in games or otherwise promoted.. Don't really understand why they wouldn't like the free advertisement, unless the car was named differently, or maybe not constructed up to par...
Hey folks; I read on the Dominance War thread how one of the guys was using the 3D feature of CS5 to do his texture. Assuming I already have my mesh, it's already uved, and a blank texture, is there a tutorial on what to do from there? So far I exported to obj, pulled it up in CS5 and was able to paint on it. Unfortunately…
I don't think a ban on guns will help us here. Yeah, it probably works, I'm sure you can point to countries that have had huge success after banning weapons, but there are negative aspects to it, and after George W you'd think people in this country could figure out what that is. I'd be all for more strick means of…
whats this about standard and premium cars? are you telling me they actually have regular cars and then a group a sub-par quality cars? "He pointed out that the graffiti on the Nürburgring track is faithfully reproduced in the game, although the more profane statements had to edited out. They keep updating the messages…
I have an issue I make my textures on Quixel DDO and when I export to UE4 they look way different like completely different materials, either way too shiny or super washed out white, is there a setting to change or is it normal? DDO UE4 preset UE4 - it looks like a super shiny metal almost like a mirror. and other metals…

As this is my first post here, I'll introduce myself: I'm a french programmer (my job) who like to do some video game stuff (not really game as I don't have good idea, but mainly working on rendering, physics, and that kind of engine stuffs). I'm currently working on some kind of car game (not really a game as…
A good practice when modeling cars is to make the whole surface of the car as one piece at first, without cutting the body panels. First you'd want to have a low poly blockout with clean topology, but no subdivision so that you can see all the shapes of the car and can modify the proportions easily if something feels off.…
Today I'm presenting a project that took me a few months to complete. I created a completely fictitious race, a sort of parody of Le Mans 66, with cars that I designed myself. I did the entire project on my own : vehicle design, 3D modeling, painting and rendering. I enjoyed making this project, and I hope you'll enjoy…
if the ear is meant to rotate very much as an animation it may be worthwhile to select that edge loop at the bottom, bevel it, and then you can add some more loops inside of that if needed after some testing. if it will fold down, just some more loops along the length will do fine. i think the way you have the topology…
