Hi everyone, this is my first post on polycount. I started trying out hand painted texturing a couple of days ago and am pretty happy with the results. I was inspired by the work of Cordero espacially this weapon. The biggest issue i want to tackle next is the lack of medium sized detail (espacially at the wood). I don't…
Hi guys I keep getting ray misses in my 3ds max whenever I try and bake out my color ID Map. I can bake normals and AO perfectly fine in other applications such as knald and xnormal but just can't get my color ID to work in max. I have tried stl check, I have checked my normals, I can't seem to reset my xform. if anyone…
Here's where you can find the essential files: http://files.filefront.com/RamPaGe2zip/;13857709;/fileinfo.html If you want to peek at the kismet setup you can find that map file here: http://files.filefront.com/CTF+RamPaGeKismetzip/;13857256;/fileinfo.html I hope you Polycounters enjoy this map! I know this place is big on…
with shaderfx you kinda get that anyway if you manage your sfx files. propagating the changes is admittedly a pain in the arse to do manually so we wrote some tooling to ease the misery. tbh. if I were doing it manually I'd export the sfx to a glsl/hlsl shader and use that instead
Things that would be cool - sculpts on bricks, the curb, some of the sidewalk panels high poly bakedown of the hard-surface models cracked glass - or if plexi-glass, heavy scratches on the plexi from where there was once graffitti but was vigorously removed with a textured scrubber brush of some kind - you know what I…
It looks like you placed one grungy metal texture over the entirety of your UV sheet. It is kind of hard to explain but it looks sloppy because metal wear and tear is not going to happen uniformly over the entire car. Water is going to pool on flat area, run down and stain areas that are slanted, and rust corners where a…
The light coming from the glass is too bright, it's like the glass is what's illuminating the scene, not the full moon above. This is made more obvious by the dark night sky you have poking through. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to fix this. Perhaps research how we see in low light conditions. Look for lighting to be…
I've noticed that some wireless mice have that momentary delay when you start moving them, for that reason I personally always use wired mice (but I know a lot of people much prefer wireless that's why I linked the wireless model). Considering the wrist pain you've mentioned before though I would say to not give up on…
I've never been too fond of the guy but you have to admire all that he accomplished and contributed. Even if I find a lot of his ideas overly simplistic, backwards and outrageously priced, he did spur innovation and was one of the few people who drove technology forward. Also... fuck you cancer. I'm going to speculate…
Hey @Swordslayer Your code works like a charm! It's nothing but a magic! Actually I didn't had any code written at the start of the topic, just a bunch of separate commands that I tried to stitch together. Stumbled on this place(showing on your code): local unsmoothedFaces = for face = 1 to numFaces where…
