The question is not what can polycount do for you... EDIT: ahh crap John beat me to it! On a serious note. Polycount has been pretty effective at refining talent and giving it a nudge into the professional realm. But keep in mind its you that does all the work, polycount only provides simple course corrections as you go.…
Hi Polycount Would it be possible for anyone to have a look at my art portfolio, My main goal is to work as a 3D Artist in the games industry or in creating miniatures for table top games/3D printing. I’d love feedback on whether my portfolio is strong enough for Games or Miniatures, and which direction I should lean…
[edit]updated below[/edit] thanks all for the comments and suggestions. they were most helpful just to clear up any crotch related musings. here's what it looks like without the skirt. http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/socialnemesis/stuff/crotch_01.jpg…
Hey everyone, I started this environment for a Polycount challenge a while back but couldn’t finish it because I got busy. I’ve picked it up again and I’m currently at the finished blockout / early set dressing stage. I still need to work on a few props—some of them are just placeholders for now. I also haven’t done a…

Start by defining the basic volume and proportions then develop the primary shapes and surface profiles. Yea I assumed the artists at Firewalk are also linked to Polycount. With the artstyle, I wouldn't be surprised to even see the polycount logo hidden on the side of a jukebox or a toaster somewhere if the game is re-released in the future. Sorry you guys have to go through all that.
Hi Ana, Well done for sharing your work on Polycount — it looks like you’ve been in great hands there, and the progress you’ve made is fantastic. Keep me posted on how things develop! We start next week with the new students, and I just wanted to say it’s been great having you this year. Thank you for all your hard work —…
Welcome to Polycount! This is great, love your style. I wish your texturing was a bit more sharp. Might have do with your texturing packing. If the whole diorama is packed into a single texture sheet, that really limits you. I would suggest instead packing according to prop type. For example, the computer prop and…
No, that’s fine, I don’t want to cancel it. Instead I’m offering directed feedback, which is the way we help each other out here at Polycount. As with any feedback, feel free to incorporate, or to ignore, of course.
