I've been searching through the forum a bit but there's such a great volume of posts about normals and zbrush and "workflow" that it seems what I'm looking for isn't just step 2 or 3 but 3.4 or 3.67 or whatever. Anyway, for all you modelers making game characters - how do you approach characters with both organic and…
Hey everyone, I’m looking to put together a small team to build a free Five Nights at Freddy’s fan game. This is an unpaid passion project for building portfolios, gaining game dev experience, and making something genuinely creepy. The Game: I am keeping the exact setting and lore under wraps to prevent the idea from being…
Hi guys! I met a problem trying to bake Ambient occlusion from normal map in 3ds max. The source I have is low poly mesh with a normal map baked from highpoly. I have no original highpoly (otherwise, it would be pretty easy to complete). Here are some ways I tried to make it work, such as scanline+skylight, or mental ray,…
Hello peeps, I'm trying to understand how to mimic the striation detail in the curling wood. I understand the sculpting to get the larger shapes but with the small intricate striations running through one another I'm wondering if it was hand sculpted or is it possibly using an alpha or an alpha in the surface noise. Sorry the late reply, so totally +18 to be honest, a visual novel +18 with a few choices that influences the story. I'm sorry if I didn't explain it very well in the post.
I think your environment looks really good and it needs just a little more work. Totally agree with Araka about 'personality pass'. I would also consider changing the colors of the wardrobe and cabinet. Maybe a more subtle color for the wardrobe and less dark for the cabinet.
if you want to go NPR you totally need eevee or a game engine. For realistic approach both are ok, but if you are unfamiliar with Blender, Marmoset could be more intuitive.
