Hi all Apologies in advance but I am unable to attach any screenshots at the moment as I am at work but I need a little help. I have a scene that I'm working on with Doric columns, 2 rows of 5 that I have low poly models of. I have uv mapped these together, so I can get variation when texturing. I have a high poly, which I…

Hello, i have a 3D scan, i have done automatic zremesh in Zbrush and automatic UVs via UV master (but i have done also manual uvs in max with the same result). Than i subdivided the mesh a lot and done projection of the detail from the original scan hi poly 3D mesh into my low poly mesh, created normal maps in tangent…
You can uvmap your mesh at anytime. You just need to export the model from zbrush (at desired subd level), uvmap it in max etc. then in zbrush you make sure that model is the active tool and import the uv mapped mesh. What I do is uv map half my mesh, mirror the geometry and uvs and shrink the uvs for the mirrored half…
i learned on max, and used it for about 6 year professionally.i had to switch to maya this last spring. it took me 30 days,(the max trial length)and i did it while in full steam production. i just manned up and did it, it wasn't to tough, but you've got to fully dive in. getting some hotkeys and some scripts will get it…
Hey man, ☺ here we are again, discussing workflow enhancements. I have actually been pondering this myself. Although decal machine looks great it looks to be more suited to staying in Blender. It uses baked mesh decals and POM. Also, Blender has a native PBR viewport. As in a lot of cases with Max we have to hack it…
Hey guys, I'm redoing this one scene I'm working on and unfortunately I ran into some snags with some of these meshes. I might start a new thread for this in pimping and previews but I need to plan it out a bit more... Anyhow here's the issue: I've exported all the meshes out of Maya as OBJ's and imported them into Max for…
Re: your edit The reset stretch/scale tools in bone tools may sort it. equally they may mess with the scaling. don't get hung up on it. max bones are displayed according to a set orientation that may well be different from the game engine so there's every chance they'll display wonky but it won't affect animation
Im not sure about the relaxing stuff, but as for UV unwrapping, I found some awesome tutorials that helped me get a grasp of it, I used to haaaate unwrapping lol [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUUhOCEujUI"]UVW Mapping / Un-wrapping - 3D Studio MAX Part 1 - YouTube[/ame]…
