Hey everyone ! I'm a beginner 3d modeler from Belarus. May I have some critique about my work? I will be glad for any advice and help. For interested ones it is a sword from game League of Legends in ChemTech style. Modeled in 3ds max then painted in SP and rendered in UE4. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Pm8K11
Hey guys got a little problem with my normal map inside of Marmoset, the model looks fine inside of Substance Painter but when I put it into Marmoset I get these weird bugs along some seams? SP Screengrab Marmoset Screengrab https://i.imgur.com/ieSmIT3.jpg Normal map Thank you in advance!
Hi everyone, Just wanted to share a project I've been working on—a stylized, modular medieval city built for Unreal Engine 5. My main goal was to achieve a vibrant, anime/Ghibli-inspired aesthetic while keeping everything extremely optimized for real-time performance. Everything is modular, from the structural pieces to…
So is there no way around the bad curvature baking? As i understand it, SP generates its curvature maps from the normal map, wouldn't it be far better to generate it from the hp mesh? This is something I asked substance here: https://forum.allegorithmic.com/index.php?topic=21117.new#new but never really got an answer to.
No matter what they're doing, every CG artist should have some PS skills. Although I use SP myself these days, PS(which I learned many years ago) is still such a hub in the whole creation process of nearly everything I do. I'll always use it for years to come.
much like gamedev says try using more asymetric light , if you build for sp, draw attention, by adding a strong light in one of those shafts. play valve games to see good lighting ! hope this paintover helps a bit, tried to stay near your initial thought (maybe its mp?)
ant1fact, I had the same problem with SubstancePainter 2018.1.1. Installing SP 2018.2.1 helped me to fix it ( i just removed generator, that creates height and then create it again and it's fixed). Also try to sort your layers in folders, and put objects that creates height into one folder, and object's that shouldn't…
For a note: I increased the TDRDelay It still just randomly crashed my drivers. I tried stressing out SP by changing between 4k/2k, throwing patricles and rotating light while it computes and it did not crash. But I guess it will tmr, when I'll just try to check one layer Quite annoying :)
ı am trying to make some height bumps patterns on my object. I create a empty layer. choose an alpha. Disable all other maps but height and normal. everything works fine at first but af ter putting a few patterns sometime SP creates some stupid black areas on texture randomly.
Hey guys - I would really appreciate any crit you have to offer on this model! I used Zbrush/SP for it and my main focus was on texturing. I'm gonna try to texture some more rusted/damaged assets soon and would like to know what I should try to improve on. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PK5k3
