Nothing can replace taste like Earthquake said. You still need to make the base textures and believe it or not outsourcing does a horrible job at this idea of base textures. Teaching them to do this is like asking a mechanic to be a dentist. You end up getting junk back.... very basic stuff that just does not work well.…
I'm new and still learning. Thank to anyone who can help advise me ahead of time. When I unwrap my textures they become huge. For example If I have a brick texture tiled on the building when I unwrap it the texture becomes so big that half a brick covers the entire wall. I spend a lot of time stitching and welding them so…
Thanks cryrid for trying to help. I first AUV tiles my high poly, then use zapplink, then the color > texture function. (process can be found here: [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWRsUkPiSK4[/ame] ) Everything works well, as in zapplink correctly bakes the material to the texture, I can change the material to say…
Good Evening, Does anyone have any good workflows or recommendations for creating a repeating/tiled texture that repeats only a portion of the texture map? So instead of using an entire 512*512 to repeat a texture, you can be able to tile just a portion of it, leaving the rest of the map open for texture sharing?
I am getting pretty sick of having to reload my textures evertime I want to see a texture update in maya. I was watching Ben mathis's texture painting tutorial and saw that he made it so the texture would auto update in max. is there a way to achieve a similar effect in maya?
So I'm doing this very realistics and precises models for work, of organic looking bags and jewelry. This are for upclose products shot, I model everything but the stitches (for the bags) which I do with textures. I'm doing the modeling and unwrapping in Blender, then going to Substance Painter for texturing and back to…
Repeating shapes are certainly fine, and similar shapes within a texture will help bring some cohesion to the texture. But, that said if you're going to repeat those shapes identically, with no difference in painting, then there's no reason to make the texture that large (cause that's what the tiling will do). Looking at…
A hot new contract opening just became available for a Texture Artist! The position is in Santa Monica, CA and will be part of a team working on an Action/Adventure nextgen title. The contract position will be for 2 months and may last possibly longer. As a Texture Artist on this project you will be producing level…
Hey all! I'm new to unreal, working on my final student project, and I've hit a really frustrating block with my textures and materials. I'm doing a low poly hand painted project, and all my materials that I import are automatically checked with sRGB. This makes them incredibly washed out and desaturated, really ruins the…
Hey Guys! I spend a lot of time on this texture Pack, it consists of mostly procedually generated noise textures, expect to see all the common and many crazy textures from known algorithms such as Voronoi, Naki, Buya ... and just a lot of varied custom stuff. Fine paper or film grain / Car paint speckles / Natural or alien…
