More Desert characters

Sooo... my vacation have started, so its time to do SOME MORE WORK! Woho

Started blocking out a character based on a concept I drew up some time ago

Just blocking in stuff still. Any thoughts?

Its some kind of warrior with a gasmask-apparatus and a gladius. Gonna give him an old pistol and stuff aswell.

Strangely, it looks like the fabric covering his shoulder is attached to his face mask... The sword bugs me a bit too, but not as much as the cloth to the face bit.

If he is in the desert, he would have a head dress of some sort, but one that only covers half of his body doesn't make sense. Because then the other part that isnt covered would lose moisture much quicker then the part that is covered, and the character wouldn't be any better off.

Shabba: Yeah, its a bit trixxy around the head part, some parts of the cape is squashed under the mask actually. And yeah, it doesn't make sense, but it's only a very small portion of the face that isnt covered, the area around one of his eyes. Also, the cape has a hood thats been pulled back, so he can cover the entire head if he wants to

Sword feels a bit out of place to me. Would be cooler with a big knife or something less classic.
Also I think it should hang from the side by practical reasons.

Looks interesting otherwise. The previous one was great so I have no doubt this one will be the same.

i definitely agree that the sword looks out of place, also, what're those spike things coming out from behind his knees? overall i think its a cool concept, ya just need to clarify it a bit, also can we see a close up of the face please?

I placed the sword there because I'm lazy and I have a planned pose for him already, hehe. You were not supposed to notice *whistles*

Its not much to see right now, basically just a bunch of boxes and cylinders

kinda reminds me of a more sci-fi version of the movie "nausicaa of the valley of wind" They wore the face masks in alot of it and had capes and stuff. (also had swords)

Nice start <Snefer>, I like the mask specially. Any tips i should give, well as I see it, the mask kinda gives you a pretty high tech feeling...a sword in my opinion is kinda misplaced. You said dessert warrior, but what would he be fighting? I would rather make him some kinda of nomad, a survivor or something in that direction.

Maybe he has a gun but if you wanna bring forth some of the nomad hunter feeling he should have something sharp, my best guess would be a knife( Like my friend Aimbiz suggested) I would rather see a spear. I know I kinda wander off here, but how about a sniper/spear? Maybe some canisters of water preservators on the back too?(In the book Dune they could wander for days in the dessert because their suits could convert sweat into water, I think there is alot of inspiration for your character there). Hope this can be of some help.

Swords fine with me I don't get the weird things hanging out the back of his thighs. I half expect a little Igor character to run out, and try and flip the switch. Or maybe that is where he stores his extra rifle butts?

I really dig the head/upper body gear looks awesome. You're a brave guy for doing so much hanging cloth.

cOldhands: he would be fighting.. other people, I guess, in some kind of postapocalyptic desert environment, think a bit of mad max.

I'm gonna switch his sword for a large knife, and give him a rifle instead. Any gun nuts know any good old sniper/ long distance rifles that I can brutally rape for inspiration?

I do cloth because Im not very good at it, but its stll faster than covering everything in sub-d detail, i need practise! Not worth doing unless you learn something

senfer...stop making such redicuously cool accessories, you are making everyone jealous k thanks bye...kidding, dont mind the sword, think its proportions could be changed a bit to make it more interesting. also i think it could be placed more on his left hip than in front of him, tho it could be tricky with his shoulder cape. realy dig his satchel/bedroll setup, i expect badass ness from this all around, awesome work on the laces and details so far.
o also the detail on the back of his right elbow works very nicely, i hope you repeat that in the detailing.

o CC whats up with the back of his knees, some strange wing like form there.

may be going a bit overboard with those circular flare-like medallions... i'm guessing it's some kind of logo for his clan or organization? maybe an accidental instance?

Hmm, really impresive.

So, he's got a little handgun. Mixed some different guns and freestyled it, its not a 1rst person gun, so I was a bit sloppy, will revisit if if needed, its mostly gonna be a prop on him anyway

an old rifle with a modern scope taped/tied to it, very trusty indeed! ^^ also gonna add a shoulder strap with some stuff on it later

Looks great Snefer everything is really looking killer! I think it would be cool to see some of the string or tape going all the way over the top of the scope to really hit home the fact that its just stuck on there.
