00Zero: hmm, nah, he just burned his skin. Badly. ^^ He wears the headgear for protection. And better accuracy
Jocose: thanks, yeah, that is definately an inspiration.
wizo: cheers man
AimBiz: Cool :] Yeah, none of it is actually operated into him, but the thingys around his eye are really hard pressed against the skin. Its a small gadget that prevents his eye from drying up, because he can't use his eyelid. So its sprays moisture on the eye. ^^
awsome... love all teh mechanical details all up in there.
only thing that's buggin me a bit is the robe, mainly just on his left side arounds teh area where it gets to the clasp bit, lookin a bit too bumpy/lumpy for my tastes.
Been working on some other stuff, but I baked down his rifle. also added a battery to the sniper scope, very important! XD Just a WIP-diffuse right now, no specmap, but I think you can kinda see where I'm heading with it texture-wise.
00Zero: yeah, I'm gonna do a rebake of those, fix them up a bit :P
Finished the gun, more or less. Added a dogtag to it, and textured it. It's just a minor prop, so don't know how much I will polish it. Thoughts? Also: boots.
Gun seams like it might be really hard to hold? I'm not an expert on fire arms or anything but the pistols I have used usually have a bit more of a grip on them. It looks as though the gun would be very heavy and with such a short handle might be hard to wield.
I could see how this gun might have been modified which might explain that, but then again if you were customizing a weapon you would think you would make it easier to hold not harder.
Then again maybe I'm wrong. Just my initial impression.
Great looking guns man! I don't have much to really say that hasn't already been said, other than that you might want to paint in fake holes on the front of the pistols cylinder for where the bullets would be. Keep up the great work man, I still cant wait to see that mask textured .
Jocose, MattQ86: The pistol handle/rear parts is an exact copy of some old western gun I found, don't remember what model, some colt or something, but I thought it was too girly so I scaled up the pipe ^^ That probably explains why the handle looks so small (or it's really uncomfortable in real life, I dunno, hehe)
moose: thanks man, yeah, it was a combination of going over the top with zbrush and a funky cage. I'm gonna try to sort that out when I get back to it
imb3nt: cheers
nrek: THanks :] Yeah, fake holes are noted Kinda forgot about them in the process, heh ^^
Stertman: its called Grouce, its from the Zbrush homepage :]
Okay, huge image coming up :P So..only sculpting cloth, tweaking and adding the gunholster left now on the highpoly. Cloth is coming along rather okay methinks, but still needs tweaking.
Looking good Snefer. I love the detail you are adding to the soft goods. Few questions though, whats keeping the hose from sliding off his shoulder? And where or what does it connect into? Other then that it seems like the handle of his dagger is extremely thin, like a twig. Keep up the great work man .
nrek: doh, totally right on the dagger. I'll fix that in the lowpoly Also the hose now ends in a..fan-thingy and its not really attatched to enything, the hose itself is meant to be quite stiff and heavy, and does not dangle around much :] Half-done with the lowpoly, will post when I have baked it down. Still don't know what rez I'll make him in, 1 or 2 2k-textures...
looks great snefer, really like that rifle, and the detail sculpting on the body is awesome! i'd recheck the legs, they're looking a little bit tubular at the moment, the kneepads might suit cinching in the cloth more along the knees, also might be an idea to suggest the top of the boot lying underneath the knee too.
Snefer-- looking awesome, man, I'm jealous! One suggestion, though: if the hose on his shoulder is supposed to have real weight to it, I'd wrinkle up the cloth underneath the hose to indicate that it is in fact resting on his shoulder. If he moves his arm around with the hose on top of it, the clothes would fold and crease between his deltoids and the hose itself.
Lowpoly. No alfa-texture or anything yet. I'm gonna pull the polycount down a few thousand, right now its 15k, but that was mostly to get a nice bake, so I'll pull him down a bit

That's AWESOME, a post-apoc Sharps. Nice LeMat as well.
I love the detail in his, and the cloth turned out great! Its very believable, which is no easy feat. Out of curiosity, what size texture map is this at?
Orgoth02: It's based on a concept I made about the same time I made my last desert character, I will probably post it at some point, heh. It's inspired by alot of stuff, killzone, star wars, roman empire :P
Kitteh: wehey, someone recognised the rifle ^^ The gun is.. actually I don't know :P
nrek: wires? what is this you speak of? ^^ As soon as I have cleaned up some of the baking polygons, i will post, fo sho
BradMyers82: cheers man! It's a 2k texture, I'm working in double rez, so its baked at 4k but you really don't see the difference at this distance :]
15k tris? In that case leave it like that mate. Maybe use some mesh to push out the kneepad a tad? Just to get some extra detail in the silluett on the legs.

I love the way you worn out the metal bits, really a nice sense of treatment going on. Its looking great snefer.
Are any of this machinery operated into him in some way or is it just equipment?
Lookin great, keep it up!
Jocose: thanks, yeah, that is definately an inspiration.

It still is.
Thanks for not disappointing me ;D

...and that's a badass alternative to blinking

Over all it looks really cool though.
Boots look awesome.
has a great feel to it!
I'd agree about making the pistol's handle a bit bigger, but other than that things look great. Can't wait to see some more updates.
Keeps getting better and better.

what zbrush shader is that?.. looks neat..

What material are you using?
Edit: whops found the answer on page three:poly136:
Otherwise, it's looking phenomenal!
