I know it's not much but it breaks it for me. But! The orange alien is indeed very cool and stylish, just like the chick's suit. Simple designs wooo!
the lead char probably looks generic to you because he will be completely customizable or so I've read (create a char)

The d-pad usage for the talking sequences is uber-cool! I'd bought KotoR only to get bored by reading crap-loads of text.
I just hope that the 'fully customizable character' doesn't have to be human [id rather be that alien guy lol]

I dont like how what you choose to say isnt what he actually says in Mass Effect. I enjoyed picking smart-ass comments in KOTOR and now you dont know what your gonna get. I also hope the interaction with alein life forms is as deep and varying as in kotor, I loved traveling to cantinas on distant planets and chatting with the locals. But there is like a hundred things this will have over KOTOR in the end so I'm definatley gonna have to give it a go.

Keep in mind this is pretty old footage. If you watch some of the latest stuff from the 1up show, the entire interface has received a revamp, and the squad controls much more intuitively.
As for the style, : D Man, I fucking love Bioshock, but Mass Effect's retro style I can dig. Oddly enough though, what I'm looking forward to the most is hearing the final musical score. More style than a cactus wearing a top hat!
Though from this video, you do have a good point about the animation. The E3 trailer looked better, so let's hope it just continues to improve.
and about the 'style' and 'score' etc. i'm looking forward to how epic this game feels. Everytime i watch the trailers with that music and the camera shots and the intesity... i just feel like im gonna be sucked into this parallel universe where these things are actually happening, and the weight of the world is on my shoulders....

What I love is how they managed to get the armour looking so damn good, the design is really basic yet the layers of different material make it such eye candy :P

With actual audible audio, I'm super stoked to hear the voice actor for KOTOR's Carth Onasi is voicing Kaiden. Or atleast it sounds that way.

one thing i'm worried about [after seeing the PAX vid] is the framerate. maybe its my browser, but did i see some frames being skipped? ahh well. it'll still be awesomesauce. i can't wait to play it.

animatr yesh I did, I was a senior poly pusher working on the human and alien heads, iconic hero and villain, the spaceship and some of the clothing and Armour.
Worked with an awesome team and had lots of fun on the project
I don't know if I can post anything.. I'll have to speak with people back at Bioware about it
Also, e-props to all the people here who worked on the game. Some of the characters and environments are by far the best I have ever seen in any game to date. Sometimes the engine has issues, such as a 128x128 texture will remain in the scene during a cutscene for a good 5-7 seconds before switching to the high res with normals, but it is easy to overlook.

Congrats to all the Polycounters that helped ship this title. Its a game I plan on picking up eventually. Too many games to get through and not enough hours in the day.
