In the end, it's all licensing. Can't make them certain cars anymore because some companies don't give the permission. What can you do?
I'm sure the polt will suck, but what do you want from a 20 year old ip who's story was built around pre-existing toys? Plus, the story is a total 'reboot', not a 'retelling'. So expect many changes.

2) I am very excited to see one of my childhood favorites brought back and given some high tech lovin. I am more interested in more of a direct translation of the old G1 cartoon (minus spike). I hope they do it without any of the modern anime crap tossed in to try and make it more palettible for the kiddies today.
3) I am also greatly troubled by recent events involving transformers being whored out. It was transform and roll out not transform and sell out.
4) I hope they remember thier audience is not 9 years old anymore and kids today think transformers is a joke with the latest abomanations they keep putting out on saturday mornings.
5) Hopefully it won't be 2.5hrs of optimus posing with a pepsi in his hand as it cuts to scenes of the mustaro doing donuts out in the salt flats.

Because in my world, giant transforming robots are going to accidently fall on people, and its going to be a bloody mess.
Seriously, I don't know where people got the firetruck thing from. Maybe he'll start off that way and change, ala what's going to happen to Bumble Bee, but from what's been leaked, he's a red semi Mack truck all the way.
I'll have to bring one of those squeeze stress balls to keep from yelling at the screen like a fool.
i've been waiting 20 years for this so i really hope they dont mess it up.
in some aspects they seems to be missing the mark and what set transformers apart from every other robot story.
bumblebee looks a bit too much like the robot from the citreon commercial for my tastes here. I hope they atleast get his face right....liquid metallic sludge face..and lips

two men with 1 arm, 1 man with two arms thats roughly an average of 1 and a 1/3 arms for each person working on this film, doesnt look good. i think you need an average of fifve arms per person to make a good movie

I was looking for a pic, but couldn't find one unfortunately. So you'll have to settle for a song instead.
I also like the looks of that robot. I've been trying to identify what type of car he'd be though. I believe they worked out deals with manufacturers to actually use RL vehicles. I wasn't expecting physical bots though. I figured they'd be all CGI (except in car state).
Nevermind, looks like the studio went ahead and released it early on the official site. (wasn't supposed to be out until next weekend) Maybe the leak prompted them to do it.

The most I can figure, is that the director of the trailer used the Bumble Bee model pictured above. The asthetics are the same. Same shoulder pieces and head crest.
It's just supposed to be 'a bad transformer' in the trailer. I'm sure using the physical model was a better choice than having ILM make a render for it.
haha, i thought the worst part of the teaser was how un-Mars the desert looked. all the images ive seen Mars has dusty rocky loose soil and not dry cracked lake bed surfaces.
