Convert UV Island to Perfect Square?

Hi guys,

Is anyone aware of a way to convert a rectangular UV island into a Square UV island inside of 3DS Max? Similar to taking the freeform tool and squashing the island to a square.

If not, is there an external software that could do this for me?

it has rectify, but that does not give a perfect square

i could guide you through a workflow in blender, but sadly not 3dsmax

You could try copying and pasting UV shells.

Attach a square plane primitive to it the object you want to UV, these should come auto UV'd and be square. Select the square UV shell in the editor. Ctrl +C. Select the non square UV shell in the UV editor. Ctrl+V.
