When decompiling the files myself for reference (instead of using the ones uploaded by valve) I can't find the files that are used in the tutorials I read and that are included in the pack from VALVE. For example for pudge. Valve includes the meat cleaver weapon as pudge_offhand_weapon.smd. When decompiling the pudge files on my own, the only one I find that has the cleaver is "leftweapon_model.dmx.smd" The problem is when I load that the bones look different and don't have listed only stuff like "apron_RCC0, appron_tie_1, bicep_L,bicep_R,Knife_A,Knife_B,Knife_C,root,spine3, weapon_lf_2,weapon_rt_1" etc. According to one picture in this tutorial (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=123397498#19139) the valve one has stuff like "thigh_L,thumb_0_L,wrist_L" etc listed in the bones. So all body parts.
Is it a new format or what am I doing wrong? I'd very much like to get into this but I can't get past the first step. Nobody so far had an answer for me, but everyone here does such great things and pretty much has to know, right? I would be very very grateful if someone could help me get started with this, I've tried for days already and I'm getting nowhere because of this.

Oh nice !! Yeah that's quite the game changer, very cool, and less tedious than manually moving the cam with console commands ... And a great way to accurately check texture balancing too ...
So I'm gonna try my hands at a Kinetic Gem submission and see what happens, why not?! It's a simple one, just a new ultimate animation for Doom. I have also recorded me animating this from start to finish plus implementing and getting it working in game. So there will also be a tutorial that follows whenever I get to it.
Is it supposed to look or will it blend into another pose? because the end part of the blade has this very fast movement going on at the end of the loop

Yea, the animation itself looping is very harsh, however, the animation blend into the idle after the cast looks fine. And since there is such a low chance of you casting it twice back to back (who buys refresher on doom anyways), I dont think it would be a problem.
Also all of this manly facial hair is awesome. Such a great idea! Haha!

Nothing here either. They haven't even listed the items as Accepted for Game on the workshop. My guess is they're a little behind the admin work because of the massive patch.

We're still waiting for the ones from last week. Considering the massive patch, we might have to wait a bit.
I didn't have much time to test it yesterday but have they also fixed the Red X's from the self made items? They now have an ethereal gem which is supposed to have a particle effect but from what I can see there doesn't appear to be anything there at all.

I need some critique on my latest set for Dazzle. Im not getting any views at all and that has only happened to me once before, and that was for a terrible item that i later removed.

It seems okay to me, the sleeves look a little plain and there is a black line connecting the back item and the back. Maybe you should rework the rig a little. You can also work on the preview image, most of what ive seen, that people like, are item previews that have this flair to it. All of these crits aren't noticable ingame so its fine. Remember that many people just vote for items on characters they like, and their likes don't change valve's decision of adding your items to the game.

The black line is actually a line of dark body paint that dazzle has running across his entire back. I think im just gonna work some more on the preview images and reupload.
Dont see anything wrong with your item for Pugna, other than it looks a little bit flat. You probably shouldnt listen to me though, i have bad taste.
Finally finished my juggernaut sword Never did figure out how to get ingame preview to show my uploaded particle mesh, but steam workshop accepted the mesh, so I just have to assume it's done correctly x)
Would love to test my new items with this new camera feature, if just my client didn't crashed every time I hit the "preview in-game" button.

apart from obvious things like checking the integrity of the cache, updating drivers etc, i have only one idea. I had a weird bug where the in game preview would incorrectly display the specular. the thing that fixed it was changing the display settings to window mode.
