ESCAPE The Beryllium Gang TeamCosmoBear

Our entry is a space western scene depicting the gang's escape from their recent stage coach heist.
The team consists of:
Nik - Nik Overdiek
remix - Frank Torrealba
TelekineticFrog - Chris White
Jason Young
Specs: Roughly current gen, but not using normal maps or going through the high-poly/bake process, etc. Diffuse and Spec only(glow if needed). Keeping it stylized, but using CE3 to get nice lighting, fx, post processing, etc.

Here's some concepts that Nik has been working on to develop the initial idea we had. We're a bit past this stage and working on a more fleshed out concept, but this will give you an idea of where we've been and where we're headed.
After several ideas were tossed around, discussed, and sketched, we settled on a space western theme based around a stagecoach robbery and escape. Essentially we'll have a mix of several posse characters, some sheriff bots, and a nice blend of tech and environment for the background.
Nik did some character roughs to start getting an idea of what the posse might look like. We're still fleshing things out on this side, but 1-3 will be getting some makeover action to help tie them into the theme a bit better, as well as make sure they're alien enough.
After this, we started to develop the environment we wanted. It needs to feel western and alien at the same time, so moving towards a more southwestern/desert look made sense. These are several sketches to get an idea, and we're currently working on nailing this down.
We all dug 2 and 3, so Nik is currently working furiously on getting something a bit more finalized for overall environment look, as well as character direction. More to come soon!
I have to say that this thread is the most exciting I have seen so far.
I REALLY dig the style and direction. I am So keen for more that if being keen was chocolate then I am Willy Wonka.
We're probably going to tone down the colors of the environment to help pop the characters a bit more (once they are in there).

Yeah, I think we're all in agreement about wanting to capture the dynamic feel of that first concept in our final. That'll still be our target, just with the more desert-y environment that was created.

Really love these characters except one the mushroom head cause it kind of looks familiar but done better.
This one is on the list for sure, I can see it now and I am sure if the concepts look like this the rest will be just as nice can't wait.
