Kinda sounds like you 'like' the idea of being an artist, rather than having the passion to be one. Do you think you're the only artist that has been plagued by self doubt or had a hard time doing what they wanted to do?
I totally agree with what Drav said - sorry but if you're complaining already at this stage and wanting people to hold your hand when you're not even posting your own work up for critique, just back out man. I don't want you to quit, but right now you haven't shown any work, your post just comes across as you wanting people to give you answers again and again and a pat on the back. Post some images of your work to start off.

Do you want to know how to get good at some incredibly specific, arbitrary type of art? Research it. And draw.
