Blender and UDK

I use Blender. I love Blender. For personal exploration and building a portfolio, I got UDK. Now, I model things in Blender and should I just model them, texture them, and import them without a high-poly base to bake from.

I find that is usually garners nice results, and I think with enough texture work a model fresh from Blender can too. What do you guys think?
