Theres alot of speculation its System Shock 3, which i very much doubt, but looking forward to whatever it is anyways.
Loved the first Bioshock, even if it was abit dumbed down compared to System Shock 2, it had a great atmosphere and the story was kinda good.
Any thoughts?

Anyway,
what ever the game may be, it'll probably rock. SS3 would be awesome, but a new IP would be equally awesome.

Bioshock 2 had fuckall to do with bioshock. This is the writer and team of bioshock working on a new game in the same universe.
WTF are you talking about? Bioshock 2 was set in Rapture with Big Daddies, Little Sisters and all the accoutrement of the original Bioshock. Bioshock Infinite apparently has none of that. Maybe there will be plasmids, but flying around brightly lit skies is a far fucking toss from creeping around a decrepit underwater city.
Here's an idea, put it in space, make it sci fi horror, and calling it motherfucking System Shock 3, with Shodan. Do it and do it right!

Bioshock was an entirely different development team and dropped the political/social ideology that defined the first game in place of HEY GUYS LETS SHOOT PEOPLE UNDERWATTTERRR.

Anyway i'm all for ken levine taking on perversion of western imperialism with stemapunky carnival metaphors. Something is missing in you if you don't find the notion entertaining.

If the bioshock series, aside from the silly, shallow bioshock 2, is going to be about criticisms of Utopian political schemes i support it entirely. Bioshock wasn't perfect, and the narrative was sometimes heavy-handed, but the content was something entirely unique to western gaming and i think a lot of people overlook how important that is.
I think everyone wanted was the gameplay depth of systemshock.
the bioshock series had the setting, art, mood of a shock game, but none of the gameplay, which was even cut down due to development schedules.
Now if we're lucky we might get some of that back for this game, but that's not going to happen.
Floating steampunk city? Hell yeah! Bioshock on lifesupport? Nay..

So for all of us who are just dying for a system shock revival, it's very unlikely to happen from Ken Levin and the talented guys at Irrational.

This wasn't the root of the disappointment as I said above, people just want something less shooter 2.0 and more depth.
