kp: thank you sincerely, means a lot coming from you. you remember what an uphill battle color was for me, years ago.
thanks for the heads up Makkon (and to Dado for helpful link to some brushes) for SAI.
first one is sai, second one back to painter, tagging in the style of lucian freud cause i've always been pretty creeped out with how he renders flesh. nice work on the colors cw, sorry i muted them so much

@allan-p: thanks mate, this has been a real productive time. @gauss: bleghh, that one's unnerving enough without channeling freud's coloring. @cw: you can never have a big enough cod piece. Never.
I tried channeling some Frazetta on this one. Got me to loosen up and try a much more dynamic pose than I'm usually willing to, which was cool, though tough as balls to pull off
Makkon, I owe you for the great color palette on this one.
Spent way too much time on this, but it was good practice! :P
Thanks for that paint tool SAI link Makkon, made me finally try it out, and I'm loving it!
Makkon: yeah it's legit alright, I am blown away by leanness, the speed of the program. Endless levels of undo, no lag on anything. Really remarkable. Here's a piece I did (not a tag) to get comfortable with it, had a lot of fun.
Neo_God: LOVE the inflatable outfit. Tres chic.
Got a tag or two coming in a little bit but I came across some old junk of mine and figured I would catch up on a few of my tickets, since it's been ages since I've posted one. The first one is too funny/too cringeworthy not to post. The second one is of course, proof again I invented steampunk. Both dated to 2004.
I wanted to add some dark tones and shading to this as well, but the techniques I kept trying were fighitng with me. So I guess it wasn't meant to be. Hope this still feels sufficiently dark!
Light is light and dark is dark, I say. He looks like a friendly doctor who lost his license for malpractice, later to be accepted by a rural village community...
@Harry: love the ticket man. @Allan-P: Spooktacular! @gauss: I don't even wanna know what's goin on down there. Awesome/gross.
I didn't improve this so much as give it a lateral shift and greeble the shit out of it. I'd love to see someone's take on this who actually has an eye for detail on techy bits, as I certainly don't.
awesome, im glad someone did mine, and I dig your style, kind of reminds me of estonian animation which is sick.
I'm still waiting for something to jump out at me but while I do I'm finishing off an old concept i found on a harddrive to use as another ticket
*warning, a little bit off topic*
I was working on a tag but I lost my wacom pen for the past 2 weeks, I had another pen ordered, but luckily, I just found the old one in between my wall and a flap of carpet (apparently the carpet was coming up a bit). And I was able to cancel the order before it shipped. I thought I had lost it in between my internship and home, I gotta keep better track of that thing.
Thanks Kine, though it's more like a huge "magical" cloak, rather than a headless female :P
Here we go makkon, I think we've started a tagging frenzy :P It's funny how I always try and take it towards a more humanoid aspect. So try your money on this mate!
Man, Allan! I'm doing that hooded skull thing next!
Unfortunately, while painting this, I realized that I completely squelched the direction you were taking it and pretty much brought it back to what it was, which is rather counter intuitive. Sorry
and my anatomy is awful, if I used reference my stuff would be so much better... but I do think that's enough skimpy chicks from me for a while.
Lot of really great stuff in the last few pages guys, keep it rolling!
Mak: great work and if there's anything I've found as I get older as an artist is that I've drawn more of the nude female form, not less. There's a weight of art history there I think
One comment I would encourage more of you to consider, I see very few people modifying the frame. No biggie if you're not making major changes, but many people are, and cramping their own compositional choices because they haven't changed the frame to suit. Almost all of my tags I invariably expand the canvas, paint, and then at the end while sizing down/color tweak I also crop. Give yourself room to maneuver.
Ahhhh ok so... this turned out to be more testing new tools and techniques than making something awesome, but I'll post anyway (Did this on my BRAND SPANKING NEW INTUOS 4!!!)
Lamont > kinetichaze > Mezz
Better things to come as I get used to some new tools
Thanks gauss! I had to force myself to use a reference, which I need to do much more often. Can't wait to see the next take on that one, it could really be an epic tag line
here's a ticket before I go to bed. A tribute to Allan-p

i wish i had made the shoulders a tad wider to balance the wide stance - i might go again on it later.

dfacto > gauss
premium > cw > gauss
looks like Hitler got stung by a bee
Gauss: Freaking rad, your colors are always so interesting. Sai takes a bit of mucking around before you figure it out, but it's great isn't it?

Peris: Isn't it great? Loving the retro feel you got going on there, I ought to take a swing at that.

me and color aren't on good terms.
kinetichaze > gauss > kinetichaze > suprore
(it wasnt stupid enough, guys, i fixed that.)
Gauss: Haha, it won't be long before he goes postal, I know I would if I was forced to wear those pants.
Took it in a more disney fantasia direction.
Plyrs > Mezz

Here's a couple of tickets, that should allow me to rape some of your creations.
Makkon: Woah wicked, that gave me an idea for a new tag
Makkon> Allan-p
Played around with SAI and then brought it into Photoshop for some touchups.
And haha, did you know that tomato is an old slang term for women? I found it hilarious.
Here is my attempt at being more loose and trying out some new things. Pose is a little rigid, but that can be fixed.
Lamont > kinetichaze
