Great sketches I wonder if you guys would like to try to roll some dices for inspiration. Not that you would need it, but just for fun. The first roll would always pen&paper or photoshop. But maybe you get some funny results with the other ones:
SimonT: The dice roll method sounds interesting. I will give it a try.
Erik: It looks better. Cool image. Perhaps have some light from the mouth hitting the guys shoulders. Also I keep looking more at the guy one the right because his pose is much more dynamic and interesting then the foreground character.
Along shorline breach and muck,
Lantern shining through gloom and dock,
walking without a goal, til finding the breath it stole.
Inspired by the short story with the same name by Robert W Chambers.
Part 1: atleast 4 siluett thumbnails of the creature/character "The Harbour-Master" (with an interesting pose)
Part 2: A painting of "The Harbour-Master" based on one of the thumbnails, It should contain some form of simpel background and have an interesting pose (ie: not a stiff concept sheet)
Sidenotes: Focus on this challenge would be: pose, values, rendering. - (color not required, grayscale might give you a lot in terms of value training)
For those of you at TGA (or in Malmö) wanting to join in on Sketch Jam today: Sketch Jam offers an excellent oppurtunity to draw some thumbs! :P
Does any of guys have experience withfinding student apartments in Malmö perchance? Is it hard? I'm asking since many of you study at the Game Assembly and I'm just trying to get an estimation of how hard it is

KarlWrang: thanks man, not really, I got some help from my folks so my apartment isnt really a student apartment, but yeah I think you need to start looking early.

Thanks Erik! There's alot of character designs going on for me right now. after that I'll jump to more environments again to practice that. But just for fun i made an enemy for my chars
Thanks Kristian! Really like your harbourmaster. The lightning and the whole seen just looks awesome. I'd put in some lanter reflections on his shoulder tentacles to further define their slimyness. Like those accesories he's wearing to.
