Scythe, Slozhny and sheckee - thanks a lot! Scythe, I will show you the texture maps and Slozhny the model in T-pose without the skirt mesh later when I have time to sort them out.
Hey kurthectic nice work, his mouth kinda reminds me of Jonah Hex ;
jairo0182, and Nina I., great stuff people!;
ysalex thank you very much for the tip, I'll try to fix his biceps!
To expound on the new techniques I've learned?
I really just learned, finally, how to use edge-creasing in Maya, and how to properly end edge-loops in highpoly models. Oh, and how to use the non-linear deformation tools in a more intuitive way. That, along with tons of other things I've picked up recently at polycount about high-poly modelling. I've just taken a step forward, technique wise. And it's about time. Now to do some impressive stuff with it, haha.
Now to use all the great normal-map baking information found in EQ's latest thread!
This is the last thing im putting up for turbosquid wasn't actually thinking id sell anything but doesn't hurt to try. http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-window/701171 . Up next Some head bust's. Critiques are always welcome Thanks.
TerraBite, murph, STRIKER and gamefactory: very inspiring characters! I like the colors in all of them and I could imagine seeing them in published games!
about 2.5k tris... too much but I wanted to get really nice normal map. Added few supoort loops:/ didn't want to make hard edges everywhere. Tomorrow I will start texturing!
