A character I've been working on lately. I tried a little lower polycount this time, just for fun. Also it's a lot quicker hehe.
I'll post a full shot when It's done
Been doing a lot of 3d work lately, and im feeling kind of bad that I havnt been drawing in a long while.
Here's a "get back to 2d" warm up kinda thing.
Been a bit interested in trying to work with textures also, so I tried some of that.
Yo! A lot of work during days and on spare time projects right now Which I like!
Less time to draw though, but I try my best to keep em coming!
Here's 2 drawings and a quick paint over on my new character I'm working on now and then between everything which is kinda never. (concept on that above)
Thanks!
I've realised that I need to practice a lot at perspective and interior design, so more of those will hopefully come soon
It's really a lot of fun so far!
Wow... that is a girl with a beard. Weird ^^
Nah, just kidding. Your dude doesn't really look like a dude, he is too soft. Men are hard. I find best working on men with hard brushes and girls with soft ones. Give that dude some edges and perhaps wrinkles. Men can handle that!
Other than that: The eyes are different in size, you should recheck there several times while painting. It happens too often that the eye facing away from the viewer decreases in size while rendering the face.
The upper lip is also kinda frontal viewed. Do some research about the roundness and the structure of the mouth! Its round, you seem to know that, yea, but the clavicle or what it is called doesnt follow that.
Perhaps mirror that dude and you will perhaps see your flaws.
Wow! Thanks for the feedback!:)
You're right about that hehe, I've been practicing on drawing and modelling females to much lately hehe.
I always find myself doing that same mistake with the eyes >>
Got some more time on my hands these days. Which means a lot more drawing
Really feel like getting a lot better at it, so don't be afraid to give some constructive criticism!:)
Hej Calle
I think your stuff is interesting and fun, and you have an especially good feeling for structure in your enviros. Something I notice is that you have quite a lot of stylised simplification in your work, particularly in your characters - not a really bad thing in itself but you could do some (more) studies from photography/film and portrait painters such as J S Sargent, de Laszlo, Van Dyck, Rembrandt. If you really go in and study the value structures in those sources you can learn a lot about the forms of the face and how they change in relation to one another in different lightning scenarios, and you could get much more depth and variety in your character paintings as a result.
Kör på!
Tja!:)
Thanks a lot for the great feedback! It's something that I really should do more often I think I'm being a bit to lazy and thinking that I rather draw spaceships and stuff like that hehe.
I'll get going on studies asap!:)
Really appreciated!
tack!
I also got started on the textures to a new character im doing as a lunch project at work.
It's somekind of zombie guy this time!
(should finish the female character as well..)
Very lovely artwork. The style looks amazing and it shows how much time you put into it. I hope one day I can do something like this by the end of my college year. I have stopped drawing due to lack of inspiration and depression, but after joining the school I got my inspiration back. I look forward to coming here more often to help my creative thinking back on track. ^_^
Thanks for the kind words! Makes me a happy panda
Glad you got your inspiration back! Art blocks are such buzzkills..
Some great inspirational sites I could recommend is
conceptroot.com and conceptartworld.com! Really great ones!
I've started making a scene in cryengine as a lunch project at work.
This is the rather loose concept, which wont be followed to 100%.
More detailed concepts will hopefully come soon as well!:)
And this is how the High poly of the alien tube thingy look at the moment.
Alien to come!:)
Hey there! I'm not sure I understand about the planes hehe
Here's tonights drawings and some update on the 3d as well! the scene is going quite slow at the moment, although I got a lot of the highpoly stuff done. Going to post some more of the 3d with better quality later on.
Having a bit of a drawing spree lately, since I got to compensate for those 2 christmas weeks without the tablet hehe.
Here's two real quick ones! Just getting stuff drawn
Really like that! Only one point is maybe weird: the tower is lit blue from the opposite side where the moon is. I wouldn't expect it a bit more dark and maybe more orange because the light coming from this direction is orange (from the houses). Dont get me wrong, the picture looks fantasic, but if someone would really think of the believability maybe this would be one point

This time, some kind of fancy gangster gun man.
