Maaan I wish we could get the old versions of the movies. I'd buy those in a heartbeat. Maybe that's what he's doing; adding more and more shit until it's not profitable anymore, then he can take away all the bullshit and offer an original version. A man can dream...

What's wrong with these? I mean the quality isn't as good as the altered versions but it's official and on DVD. I'm not sure if it's still available on amazon but you can surely find it in other places.
I'd be willing to pay nearly the same amount of cash for a pure and simple set of the original versions of the first trilogy on BR, though.
And that's what's really scary: Lucas really does all this crap for the sake of his 'art'. If it were for money, he'd already be selling it. I'm sure a lot of people (like you or me) would buy it.
Or maybe someone should just tell him that he can rake in even more money by releasing the unmodified original again.
Anyone found links to the actual downloads ?
(BTW, maybe dont post them here if you do. Lets keep the subject safe.)
I did my own de-specialized version of Ep I from the new DVDs and the Laserdiscs rips - 3 evenings of AfterEffects. Wasn't too difficult. Never got around to do the other versions.
The thing about the 'art' argument, is that he should respect the 'art' of the original work. Would he prefer to go into Casablanca and convert the final scene, to have a 747 waiting, rather than that small plane? Hell, he's been openly against colorizing movies.

it WAS up on megaupload... >.<
