hey guys, i'm currently playing around with some concepts for dota and would like to look at the assets ingame to do tweaking and stuff - so is there anyone who could spare a key for me? would be really great!
So I gotta ask. I see all these people making items for Dota2. Is that just for fun? Like making skins for Quake back in the day? Or does valve let you actually sell those items for money?
Also, how far does it go? Can you make a brand new hero?
As far as I know it works the same as tf2 items in that if accepted they get sold through the in-game store and the contributor gets a % of the sales.
As for whole new hero's, I think you can fully replace an existing character (certainly there's already some replacement couriers) but I've no idea whats required since it would need to animate as well.
Hey guys, sorry to beg but I'd like 2 invites if possible. I've got two friends who'd like to try this out so I would be thankful if you could help me out. Thanks!
If you have dota, you can simply buy the invites for your friends. Its kind of retarded I think.
Also, if you go and apply on the website shouldnt it give you an access to Dota 2 in like a month? Mine came within a week.
I applied through steam 6-8 weeks ago but have not been given a code. It costs $30 to buy into the beta.
I'm going to be making items for the workshop. I believe it's possible to submit without beta access just through the observer client, but I'd like to get some experience with the actual game. Here's my post in the workshop thread
Wow luckily I guess I was in the final beta invite waves cause I got mine earlier this month (or someone hooked It up, if you did awesome! & TY).
Been checking everything out, watching vids/playing and I must say I got my hands full on both trying to play the game and try making anything for It.
Love the artwork, GFX, ect. It is a pretty awesome looking game.
don't want to be a big smootch but if nobody from the more "older" generation polycounters (in sense of being longer part of the community) asks for a key, i would love to get my hands on 1. I applied for the keys like couple months ago but no luck yet. It would be greatly appreciated!

If anyone needs a key, let me know.
Give me a shout if your after an invite. Preferably someone who is going to make use of it through the polycount contest!
I vouched for D2 ages ago, but forgot about it for a long time, today I check it out with my account, and it says "You already own D2".
Does it mean I haves access to the spectator Mode only, or the Game mode too?
thanks much appreciate this gesture!
The last one the failed but was turned into a game day (ps: don't let danidem play meepo)
(pps: I got 2 keys)
Valve would like to integrate Blender and Steam for DOTA2 Cosmetics....nice!
