Darksiders was the first game I beat on PS3, been looking forward to the sequel. Just hope there's no crazy difficulty spikes like with the Bat boss this time (only reason I didn't play through it a second time). Also needs more of the Irish hammer dude.
Super psyched for this!! A couple things bugged me about the first one, but it is just a generally solid game. I'm REALLY hoping they add something to it for after you beat it. Just to breath more life into it.
Can't wait to see the new baddies, too. The first has some amazing baddies. Not a big fan of Death's design on this though...
I like him. Very typical joe mad design, which I think is cool. Remember though War went through a handful of design iterations by the time the game finally came out. I think there were actually 3 distinct War designs before they settled with the shipping one. I love the dual wielding scythes.

I like Death's design actually- definitely feels like a different kind of character from War... maybe a bit more rogue-ish? I don't imagine this guy picking up cars or relying on brute force like War.
There are plenty of great looking games out there, but Darksiders is still one of the tops for me.
If I can get over the design of the main character, Calabi, I'm sure you can get over the color purple. But then again, it sounds like you're just trolling anyway, so whatever.
I might complain about bits of this game, but I know the second it's in my xbox, on release day, I will not be turning it off for hours. My productivity levels will drop to 0, and no one will hear from me till it's finished. So I hope, if anyone who worked on this game is looking, they understand that
hahaha Purple aside, I'm glad you guys like what you see so far. Be sure to check out the extended trailer!
As far as his mask, we are experimenting with ways to give him emotions with the mask. Keep in mind that this is a fantasy game with a comic book aesthetic. That unlocks us to do a lot of things within the style.
I know this is going to sound funny, but the most awesomest thing I ever seen in any video-game ever, is the animation in DS1 when you summon that horse. The way it comes out of the ground all fiery and shit. Man... that was awesome as hell.
Then I went on my WoW character, summoned a horse that just materialized in a billow of smoke, and logged out.
So seriously, I'm buying DS2 just for the horse. The rest of it is icing
The problem I had with the first one was that while I didn't have a hard time seeing what enemy I was fighting, the silhouette outlines didn't help.
Autodestruct did a great job on the artwork, but that was the problem, the 2D was great, but the 3D somehow all looked he same, save for sizes of the enemies. I hope this time around we get more Silhouette variety or at least clear color distinction, I like variety in my games, even if it's only graphical.
Awesome news BOBo. I have one question are you having to compromise the graphics in anyway for the WIIU or is it the opposite(surely this doesnt go against any NDAs)?

I'm not that fond of Death's design, either. I mean, sure, it's a comic book style, but right now he looks a lot like War with some colour differences. Also, regarding overall proportions, they should perhaps be more similar to his proportions this image, where the skirt and overall top-heaviness give him a sense of height. In-game footage makes him seem short and broad. Which is what War looked like.
I'm super excited for #2. The gameplay in the first one was a bit so-so, but I can't help the fact that I absolutely love being some mofo badass horseman of the apocalypse that fights demons and angels alike.
I'm sold already.
Good move for them to put Darksiders on PC, too, because I don't play on console.

I thought Deaths voice was a bit out of place, I wax expecting another guttural grindy voice. But eh, could work
Looks great. I want it now!
Needless to say, I'm stoked for this. Darksiders, I felt, was highly under-appreciated. I'm eagerly awaiting this. Looking great so far, guys!

Agreed. He looks like the splatter house dude or someone wearing a skull hockey mask.
War had a face and it worked so well. Allowed him to express emotion which is seems death wont be able to do it beyond moving his eyes.
The rest of him is pretty cool and similar yet different from War. Just his face is meh.
Robo-mech war was the best
i wonder who is doing concepts now that Autodestruct is gone

I have to say, I really liked the music in the trailer.
I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion, but, come on, at least TRY and ground it in something rational 8|.

I'm a PC guy, so if they ship a PC version, i will buy it. I loved the first one!
