My big post got deleted so I'll keep this one short.
Theme Week! This week character artists will focus on anatomy studies! This is entirely optional and simply to help those who would like to concentrate on one area of study.
We will be having a livestream session later in the week for instant feedback.
Illusive : The arms look a bit flat. Try to work on the muscle flow.
Bone : Huge improvement. Definitely try to work in some of the paintover changes also.
Knight : Looks good. Try to really push the gold specular so it pops.
Lol this is serendipitous to me. anyone else signed up for the Anatomy workshop over at http://www.zbrushworkshops.com/ ?
once I get it working (website problems ATM) Ill be working on anatomy studies for sure! I'll probably stream at some point too
Looking good Bonebrew. The only crit I have on this first link is that there seems to be something off about the woman's left breast. It could be just me though. I think everything else looks great.
Thx LRoy. Whole piece looks generic ;] Yeah could put more work in scales and other detail... didn't want to spend to much time on this piece though.
almighty_gir - her nose and chin seems backed to much (side view would help). Her boobs are realistic... with realistic flaws ;p it seems you weren't aiming in super sexy female. Would be cool to know whats your goal. Her abdomen seems pretty flat.
really need to get back at making something, been way to busy the last couple of weeks, just another week and I'll have 3 weeks off of work and I can start something new
Where eyebrows change into forehead it looks too inflated. Her forehead seems really flat and suddenly shes got those bulky areas. I hope you know what I'm talking about since my english doesn't make it easy to describe the problem :poly142: Her entire face seems odd... like there is really tiny problem with proportions. Can't specify it though.
LRoy - why only front view ? From this angle the only thing i can talk about is organic stuff ;] which looks really cool. Hard stuff seems ok. Those hard surface teeth looks weak. Show us mooooore!!!
Sorry for the gizmo and jpg compression. Did this shot with new 3pointlight feature (awesome stuff) but didn't change the format. I feel like I failed at planning stage when creating this guy... didn't really know what to do with him.... Now trying to create low poly (almost done) and make him animateable. Poly count will be sick simply because I'm most focused on just finishing him since its my first character.
good stuff LRoy! looks like it could turn out pretty interesting
and yeah the folds in her undies didn't get as much attention as maybe they should have...
oh my! i'm sorry i didn't see that sooner Sukotto, that's awesome!
the flowers on his green (cactus?) arm are a little out of place i think... or are thise alpha planes that just don't show the alpha yet?
Gir: Yep, the things on his arms are the spikes on the cactus, I haven't gotten around to the alpha yet and the planes on his shirt are torn fabric same as on his knees, though I may be taking the ones on his knees off as they don't make much sense to me. But you girl is looking good, though WAY TOO MUCH BLOOM!
yeah i'm sorry guys. i hadn't played about with the brightness settings on the lights. it was literally a case of "open udk, place character, press prtscrn" haha.
So I'm taking a workshop and focusing on speed sculpts. Going to try to bang out as many as I can. Time limit is an hour. It's pretty tough! Work is based on HP Lovecrafts Deep Ones.
really interesting forms on that first one mike.
Amazing really.
The anatomy on the second looks a bit rushed.. but lol an hour is not enough time to really flesh it out.
but they both look like really good designs that get across the characters forshur
some better lighting if slightly over-saturated. she's positioned in a wip map being made by a friend. need to finish up the diffuse, and work on making her skin look less "oily".
example of how the modular sets will fit together for the customisable female.
currently missing:
belt, sleeves, textures for everything, normalmaps for boots.
each piece is designed to fit together at certain points, so you can have them in almost any combination. i imagine at some point down the line there may be some designs which might clash, and have possible clipping issues. but for now considder this a proof of concept.
Whoa, it's been awhile since anyone's posted here. I've been finishing up my guy, posed him and threw him into Marmoset for some test renders and I've spotted a few errors that I need to fix. Enjoy!

max, 3point shader
Took a break from Zbrush to do a speedpaint, and see how much new anatomy/probportions I had internalized thus far.

Messin around with some hard surface stuff.

started texturing.
Maybe make a new layer and go at it with the Trim Dynamic brush to reinforce the structure a bit.
Gir looks good! Going with a shaved head?

here's my lady in UDK.
but what I can see looks great :P
gir the lighting is working against what otherwise looks like some solid anatomy. the bloom is killing it.
I've been focusing on a bunch of speed sculpts that I will post soon.
LRoy: Thanks, I'll be reworking the flowers too.

loving the volume of work coming out of you holmes.

Gir lighting looks much better. Hair is a bit strange? It looks like you have a transparent plane over the head?
