updates are looking awesome. No worries on the workflow front, no rush, im just always interested in how things are done, and zsphere just seem like a dark art to me to get a good mesh going.
Wow - how did I miss this one? Great character and really nice texturing
I've got to agree with the comments about the leg tattoo as well though- the realistic skull doesn't fit with the universe of a such a stylised character. I would either make the skull tat as stylised as the character or swap it out for something more abstract.
The first thing that stood out to me was the fact that she herself was super clean compared to her clothing and axe, so glad to read you're still going to fix that!
And a tiny nit-pick. The laces on the boots still seem part of the leather because they share the same color. Maybe making the laces a tiny bit darker will get rid of this feeling.
This character design is pure genius! "zombies ate my pants" LOVE IT!!
She looks great in this update. I would have thought there was too much blood normally, but seeing as how she's missing her pants, but still has on enormous boots, and her shirt is fine, it's safe to say the zombie kill was recent, and violent, and close.
Finally got her rigged and skinned.... man I suck at that! Still a few problem areas but I will fix them up as I go.
Quick pose to test her out and to show I am trying to keep this alive after soooooo long. I want to play around with poses before I lock one in and pose the face. Do I want to go for playful, angry, cute? I don't know. I am leaning towards cute, I think it will work better with the blood. If you have any cool pose ideas send them my way and I will lavish you with a thankyou
@ Sukotto: I think sinister cute is the way she is headed. Not sure about making her accessible, maybe once I am done. If I can figure out a way to do it .
@ Hboybowen: Thanks, I think you are right. Perhaps the blood just needs to be a bit brighter too. I will play when I get her back into Marmoset.
@ plyrs: Thanks heaps for the ref. The sitting down one would have been cool but I don't think the rig could hold up.
@ BoBo: Thanks Mr the seal . I toyed with the idea of lengthening the arms but I think I am getting too far along to do anything about it now. maybe for the next one ........ or I could just tweek it once I lock down the pose. Yeah I might do that. Thanks man.
Decided to go this sort of path for the pose maybe with a bit of "Dutch Tilt" for the final shot too. Going to play with the blood and fix that terrible Monster of a seam in her leg, which I only just noticed last night. Then it is back into Marmoset to finish her off.
@ Wex: thanks. Nah I have not touched the legs, I think it was the camera angle. I will make the arms a bit longer though.
@ dustinbrown: Thanks Heaps for the ref man. That last Canadian one was one of the first pics I stumbled across........ scary lady.
Got her back into Marmo played with the pose a bit, played with the texture a bit, and tweeked a few other things. I took a shot and started to play around with presentation stuffs just coz. I am going to tweek the mesh a bit (lengthen the arms, fix some texture stretching) and make a base for her to stand on...... Then final image fun, fun, fun.
I am thinking of heading this way with the final shot... sort of.
Thanks man , Yeah I still intend to get some facial expression in there, I am thinking maybe a slight smile. I sort of like the stern look on face at the moment so maybe I will try to emphasise that a bit more. Not really sure,
Made the arms a bit longer, and pulled some verts around. Still gotta make a base and some kind of facial expression. All suggestions more than welcome, coz I am still not sure how she is feeling, and she refuses to help me out
Yeah good point. I am wondering the same thing. But once I make the image bigger to accommodate a stand I think the boots will be free and clear of all the blood stuff, I hope it will free her up little more and make her easier to read while still keeping the Grungy vibe. If not I will just pull the grunge out a little bit. Thanks mr.
Congrats buddy! Love this character. I really enjoyed watching your progress. One minor thing - the bg still looks a bit too noisy (that's probably just me though)
Very sexy and well done. I agree with afisher about background, and maybe blood is bit to nosiy too - I mean is fluid after all, and here it look more like red dirt but it is just personal preference i guess.
I have to echo Strollson from WAYWO thread, the pose is a bit unbalanced. Maybe a firmer grip on the axe and straighten the arm a bit more, the head of the axe at a slightly harsher angle to emphasise its weight. Her other arm looks pretty good but her hand could maybe do with curling outwards more to balance out the axe in the other hand.
totally bloody ace...but I'm a git and I too have to mention that the background is abit too much also. But if the background is the biggest stress then I say that you've done a great job

still an absolutely awesome piece man, love it

But yes, awesome character! and +1 for the cherry logo.
I decided to drag her out for another update. Good call on the pose and background everyone. I won't bother to mention names since everyone said the same things :poly144:. and you were all right.
I adjusted her pose and pulled the background down a bit. I could pull more detail out but sort of like the dirtyness of it.

On a more serious note, cause that was a pretty nit-picky crit, she freakin rock's Duncan.
some ref for you: http://4gifs.org/gallery/d/212852-1/Marvel_panties.jpg

Don't make your break from this girl to long!
Thanks for the kind words feedback and awesome ref
Decided to swap the large tat for some smaller ones. With the amount of blood being splashed around I thought it could get a bit too messy.
@ MeintevdS: Thanks Yeah I really need to get back to those boots. I gotta get going on her watch too.
MORE BLOOD! You can't really see it but she has love hearts shaved into her hair too.
Need to fix a few seams.
Thanks again everyone.

Top notch work, duncan. As always.

(need a final pic for my desktop too )
Really solid modelling and texturing anyway! Keep it up!

breasts look like perfect spheres.. .fake but if that's what you wanted
depending on the bra that she wears, that's perfectly normal. If she wasn't waring a bra, well then they look fake.
I swear this IS the LAST update. Slight texture tweeks, and presentation adjustments.
I am gonna let this thread die now
HD screengrab please... new wallpaper for my pc haha
loved it.
cheers!
