Alot of our testing requires multiplayer, so we just have to create everything, then test it when it comes back up. a little bit of a change in work flow. plus, psn is a huge part of my companies revenue. I can only imagine how much we`ve lost.
What I found funny, is they were still playing their PS commercials, with the CEO getting ready to play SOCOM, just this last weekend. It led me actually check my PS3 to see if it was back online.
I was wondering why Hulu+ commercials have been saying "now on Xbox 360" instead of "and gaming consoles" recently.

Same thing happened when the Wii got nextflix after PS3 and 360 had it. Commercials were "now on Wii" mainly to let people know that it is NOW on the Wii, and that Hulu+ is NOW on the 360. Nothing strange on that one.

nope! lan doesnt work. you either "sign in", or "go offline" and if you click sign in by accident, its a pain in the ass, cause there is no back button to allow you to go offline. you have to restart the system. ive done that too many times.... haha
Yeah, I got the patch, because I thought they were suggesting it was back up. I didn't know this was in preparation for when it becomes ready I hope it means it will be online earlier than expected. Otherwise, I would think another patch will be needed as they confirm their security fixes (assuming that they'll need to make adjustments).
Multiplayer was back up for me in the US yesterday, I tested it out with cross-platform, cross-globe multiplayer coop on Portal2. Still no sign of the PSN store though
Some work buddies of mine and I had a game jam to make a game that's a parody of this whole mishap.
I guess inFamous and Wipeout HD. This is kind of what I expect. Games that people already have, or are budget games. Free is free, I just wish it was a bigger selection. Maybe even a $ amount. So, rather than 2 old games, you could get 1 newer/cool game.
I just hope you don't have to provide credit card info to get any of these freebies.
Notman, I would advise against Wipeout hd/fury, if you're a fan of wipeout series. Try the demo first. It's a decent game on its own and graphics are really beautiful, but it's probably the worst Wipeout gameplay-wise in the series.
I played 2097 way back in the days (demo, I was a kid and all that).
Then the PSP version(s) of the game were awesome. Playing them in "fps"-mode and holding on to the psp as if it was your window out onto the racetrack. Totally awesome. Grinded that game to shitz, almost as much as Ridge Racer.
The hd versions are excellent. Graphics are stylized up the ass (that being a very good thing... me and expressing myself...) and the ships hover like dreams!
Its definitely the best wipeout gameplay in the series!

Actually, I've tried the demo and like it. It wasn't good enough for me to go buy it, but for free, I guess. The list really doesn't impress me. I already have LBP (who doesn't anymore), and Dead Nation really doesn't strike an interest for me. Even inFamous really doesn't excite me, but I know it was suppose to have some cool factor to it.
I wish Mod Nation was available for the PS3. Or maybe the older Killzones, since I lost interest in them by the time they dropped in price. Maybe they'd get me hooked into new series. I was that way with Uncharted, but after borrowing them from my brother, I'm hooked on that series. It seems like it would be a win for them to offer games like that.
I don't want to be one of those guys bitching about free stuff though.

These offerings are to say sorry for almost everyone on their network having their account details - and in some cases their credit card details - stolen. Sure. They certainly don't have to offer free games, and free periods of premium services, but offering already past-it titles feels a little bit shit. Atleast to me.

Its supposed to be reimbursement, Autocon I myself am not over the moon at the choices we have as part of the welcome package. I would rather pick two PSOne games for the PSP, and I dunno, more choice when it comes to the PS3 games, though I understand Sony would have to pay out to third party companies with some games. But, again, this is supposed to be reimbursement. And for + subscribers, damn right they have a right to complain about getting 'free shit'.
Plus subscribers are getting another month or so tacked on to their sub for free. They are giving 1 year free of credit protection services to anyone who wishes to sign up. I think that's enough as is, but with these games awesome. InFamous was great, and a good way to get into the series before 2 is release soon. Dead Nation for me, along with Stardust.
Again, if they want to make me happy, I would just prefer a credit on my account equivalent to the price of these games. Who knows, maybe I'd drop in a few dimes of my own, and buy something at a higher price.
