I'll echo the other posts about the sense of scale you guys have going on. It's sex.
I love the lighting over the blimp too, it's going to look great once the model is complete.
Very nice work on the composition as well. Good eye movement and there's already a lot of interesting things going on. Can't wait to see it done. Gonna be epic!
Thanks alot :] We should post some closeups of some of the props and so on, when they are not so wippy and unpolished, heh Well, busy pimpin mah blimp! Some Zbrush-action going on here, etc.
But adding a Greentooth (I think thats what the logo is called) to your 3D art is so cliche man
...You must be new here...
That's one sexy Zeppelin Snefer! Things are shaping up quick! Always awesome to see your work in progress. Don't really have much to add right now... Just here to cheer you on!
Well, my Tibetan re imagining of Greentooth has 7. as you can clearly see the number 7 is a reoccuring theme across the whole gate. So it is suitable for him to have 7 teeth.
Amazing, love it all! Great atmospehere, i feel the blimp could be moved slightly to the right so you can see some of the background stuff like that bridge a bit better! Just how my eyes followed the composition!
Looks awesome, the only thing that bugs me is the lack of anti aliasing in the pics. I know that these are just wips but couldnt you please turn it on when youre taking the next screenie
Lovin' this! Especially that blimp, but a lot of the detailing gets overpowered by all the bloom and depth of feild...
Maybe add some hot air balloons you could put in the foreground? Probably be easy to throw together using assets and materials from the blimp and give some scale to the foreground making it feel more "epic".
Edit: Also a good excuse to throw in some fire effects if you guys want some effects going on to boot.
Actually ballons is one of the things that we were planning to make, or rather.. like air-buoys, if you look at the original image there is a cube floating in the air, thats supposed to be a floating buoy :]
Right now the blimp is both untextured and without baked lights, so it kind of stands out too much, and the lighting is too dark and contrasty on it. Right now we are focusing on getting everything in there, and then polishing it up, synching texture values, fixing the fog/ postprocess /lighting :]
Heya, guys, going smoooooth. Love the temple, would be nice to see some flats.
and guys, not to sound rude, but so many balloons look like shit. They really make things overcrowded kill the scene.
Alright I kid, I know it ain't your pic. I'm just making fun of how few people actually read through the posts.:)
anyway you're doing an amazing job, love your entry.
Maybe another zeppelin in the background?
And yeah, you were talking about another pass for the foreground if I remember correctly. Would be nice to see that.)
With a full month to go you maniacs are almost done. geez, I better get back to work.)
Looking great guys, that blimp is Hot! My only question is why are the gates and the docks offset from each other? I get that if the gates/doors are moved in line with the docks then you are left with a long stretch of blank wall to fill, but that also provides the potential to add something cool like a fueling station or something.

The temple texture is just a very basic texture atlas with some baked AO overlayed in the lightmap UVchannel Very quick and dirty, but it gets the job done
Still some empty space in it for some other backdrop-ish units
Looking great Pixelgoat now only if your teamate would stop going to the gym and having ADD modeling sessions then maybe he would have some updates too! D oo EEET Tor!

also, there's a really good sense of scale.

have you thought about moving the ship closer to the foreground like in the original composition? it would be a shame to miss out on those details.

You might want to consider some minor light sources with warm colors to contrast the overall cold feel.
Great job, guys.
Good times. :thumbup:
d1ver: maybe, we have quite a few elements not in place yet :] well see how it balances out later :]
Wahlgren: haha, thanks... eeh... but no jinx! ^^

@JonathanF
I think we will try for some thicker clouds aswell for some extra depth
@Sharvo
We'll take it into consideration
@Timeyy
Will make sure to do that for the next full-scene pic
WIP of the backdrop temple...

We are, we are using tiling textures for everything basically The temple is using a lowrez texture without filtering to retain the crispness :]
