ae, the buckle is 2 parts that join at an angle in the middle. It's a bit more obvious in the original design. I can work on it a bit more to make it more like separate parts because it does look a little odd
Think I'm pretty much done with the high, unless I spot anything as i'm baking bits down. Feather's + extra details like more necklaces / bracers / bracelets etc will be added in the low.
Retopo time, really looking forward to adding the feathers and bodypaint on
YES! This is looking awesome. I really love the vibe to this guy. The lower legs and feet possibly look a tad bit too large but whatever I think it looks ace. I am really looking forward to seeing him with some of those feathers.
Been away for a while, but I'm back to work on Ken! Probably wont finish on time But I will definitely finish him up after if not.
Got the first rough bakes out, stuff is missing at the mo and it needs a clean up but it's a start After tidying the mesh and the bake up I'm going to start placing the feathers / necklaces etc then block in all the diffuse.
After only using marmoset ages ago for a tiny bit, I gotta say I'm loving it now! Spent a good hour this morning playing with all the options etc, so easy to pick-up.
I'll carry on updating over the next couple of days.
got the feathers in I made a while back as a test today, I was worried about alpha sorting hell but marmoset seems to be holding up OK! Will be improving + adding more variation etc tonight.
Did a quick pass on the body diffuse today, heres a MEGA wip! Tomorrows update should be a bit more complete in terms of getting all the low poly parts in, sorting out clipping + posistion of things blabla. Then onto focusing on the textures.
abso-fucking-lutely gorgeous!
I really like how the body paint turned out. Although I think in some areas the blend between paint and skin is a bit too soft. Try roughening that up a bit.
Maph - Good idea with the paint!
Kendo - The buckle is in 2 sections of wood. It was a stupid design choice from me, no time to fix now - should have addressed it when AE mentioned it. I'll try make it look more obvious that it's 2 sections =/
Thanks guys Working on him tonight, gonna pose him up, then do the renders / polish tomorrow (I hope) Going to be one hell of a rush, good luck to everyone else trying to finish!
Was going for a far more elaborate pose and it just wansnt happening I'd rather spend my remaining time on the diffuse and spec, which some parts need desperate love!

No time, calling it done Fairly happy with the result! Just putting together my last presentation shots.
Been a great experience entering the comp, I've found it really motivating - I haven't finished a full personal piece for a long time, so this has been really cool!
Good luck on finishing everyone!

Got more small boring tasks done, now I'm onto the fun bit, diffuse and spec
Need to start thinking about a rig/pose soon as well
Updated the above post with a few texture updates, working my way down from the helmet. Face next, then onto the belts.
cheers

But seriously, one of my favs so far!

Getting there. Got some time left tomorrow for more texture bits and presentation.
