Just bought the ' Art of Tron Legacy ' - bloody awesome concepts - it even has some character concepts on different programs and their color choices - representing the different factions in the tron world..
I made the mistake of buying the new Tron game. Nice art I suppose but the gameplay is really bad. I only played through the singleplayer to unlock the model viewer, but unfortunately you can't zoom or control the camera at all - it just spins the models in a very distant view. Most disappointing. Whoever 'designed' the gameplay should be fired.
A short behind the scenes about the costume design
The most interesting thing is that the glowing lines on the suits are a practical effect and not added in post. And the electronics are hidden in the new disk design.
I couldn't help notice that the Final Submissions thread asks for a 480x320 in-game shot, whereas the first post in this thread specifies a 960x640 image.
I've already done mine at 960x640 - is that still admissible? I hope so as I spent ages on it and it has no AA so I can't just resize it!
By the way, the iPhone 4 runs at 960x640, conveniently enough.
Quick question. For the vehicle, when you say 2 512 x 512 textures, do you mean we can use 2 512 for diffuse with an additional 2 512 for specular? Or do you mean 2 512 textures used for a diffuse and whatever else you want? Right now I have 2 textures sheets for diffuse, specular, and emissive

That's already been clarified several times, actually.
when someone says you get say, a 512, that means it's a 512 per pass. So a 512 for diffuse/alpha, 512 for spec, 512 for emissive (and so on).
I think if you were to use one thread you should sort the entries by category. ie list all the character entries, then vehicles then scenes so that it's easier to compare them.

unfortunately the voting form doesn't have that kind of capability. It's one vote per user per item.
What I'll do is make two threads; characters and scenes. Anyone entered a character and scene will be entered into both threads.
Yeah I agree with Joshua - if you can only have one vote per thread then we really need separate threads. How much of a huge pain in the ass is that Hawken? ;-)
I guess Hawken has given up on this due to lack of time. It would have been nice if another moderator had taken over or at least made some kind of announcement rather than just letting the contest die.
Okay, we're coming up on the 8 month mark now. Could anyone possibly set this up for judging? Anyone? I would really like to have it out of the way. *eyeballs hawken*
Yeah...I figured polycount had gone quiet for whatever reason. I went ahead and migrated over to a few other communities. Was there even much activity on here when someone was around to moderate anyway?

Eh? Was it extended 10 days then? Or is it still due on Friday? If it's Friday, is that end of day? So like, 11:59pm?

I'm also wondering about this. Either way I'm aiming to have my entry done ASAP but it would be nice to know.
EDIT- Ya it says this in the submission thread. -
"This thread will lock at midnight December the 27th. (week long extension)."
Now I can sleep tonight.
Either A: lump all the entries in together
or B: 3 separate voting threads for: character, vehicle, scene
